Mercilessly ridicule them for being giant douches.b. Be the exact assholes who are behind the project.

Well brobomb you dug up an old gem. You are brave men for posting this on NS, I am sure a mob of guys in tall tees are forming in front of your house with torches as I write this. I personally liked that edit since I first saw it, but at the same time hate 90% of the kids on here so my opinion differs from the norm. Frankly, you are wasting your time by posting it on here, NS is about conformity and doing the same thing over and over and not something new. And to answer the above poster's question, 'what do hipster chicks have to do with snowboarding', probably just about as much as blowing smoke into the camera, fronting and having African American hobos saying your crew name.
 
I agree though, the girls have as much to do with snowboarding as making gang signs and whatever else people do into the camera as skiers. Nothing. I'm not really a fan of either. I'm not against trying something new though. It was interesting to watch, and it's always nice to see an edit that doesn't have some remix of a remix of some rap song.

I think brobomb posted it to start hate? They don't seem to like it based on what they listed they would do if skiers went that direction. Unless they're being sarcastic?
 
for now I'd say option A...we could do it though. With less girls looking haggard, more landings, and definitely more dumping of them titties
 
As with a lot of new stuff, it misses the mark a bit, but maybe people will watch this and think of new ways to combine snowboarding/skiing and multimedia art.

The images of the girl and the snowboarding just seem too unrelated to mesh.
 
This. I'm stoked that people are trying new things. Hate is obviously expected. Maybe if the strange stuff was something to do with trees or snow or whatever it would be better. Or maybe the white around the girls symbolizes snow, and how haggard they look represents us shredding up the snow. All the danger and injuries and all that...
Hmmm you could probably look into this with a whole lot of depth. Which is why I'm thinking it's pretty sick. About time we got some different approaches to snow cinematography.
 
i loved that! The falls seemed absolutely gnarly and how it cut to a weird second long clip during that first fall scared me haha.

and to the people asking what those girls have to do with snowboarding, what does the into for teddybear crisis have to do with skiing?
 
this video does absolutely nothing to disprove that rollerblading is gay(which its not, rollerblading is OK!) but it shows how you can make an immensely hipsterish "film" maybe a little more relevant to an "action sport."

 
That was actually really sick. I could see a snow film doing something more like that and just changing the way people look at ski movies. And along with it there would be more haters than we know what to do with.

And what's with calling artsy things "hipster" things? As far as I'm concerned, hipsters aren't artists. They're trendfollowers that follow art, not create standout original art.

I dig that Farmer shit because it seemed to flow. It definitely succeeded as a music video/multimedia art piece more than WSKI succeeded as a faux radio show or PYB did as a hiphop video.

For the record, that COMUNE flick is being released as 3 different "edits." One is straight snowboard video, and the other two have all sorts of shots spliced in.

Love the conversation though...

I'm all for experimental film but that was pretty weak. Some dudes girlfriend crawling around was the only weird shit they shot?
