Avalanche/tree wells

What are your thoughts about the motion sensor devices used by firefighters and many other injury-prone careers, being used for avalanche and tree well victims?

it seems like this technology would be beneficial because almost everyone can hear, but not everyone has a beacon and/or is looking for a lost friend.

I don't know just a thought, here's a link:

http://www.americanairworks.com/passdevices.html

It's called a PASS device and everything except the extreme heat detection seems like it kinda fits for being buried in snow or motionless anywhere. How well do you think it would travel under several feet of snow?

any thoughts at all?

I put this is WA forum because we get a shit ton of slides around here but maybe I should've put it in one of the gabbers. Still I think it's an interesting thought.
