Avalanche Scare

Quick story about a time I was in an avalanche without a beacon.

Me and a large group of people were in japan skiing some deep powder last winter. We were trying to track down some friends who were further down the run. We were charging down this run, but didn't know that ski patrol was setting off bombs so late in the day. They set off a bomb right above us. I couldn't believe they hadn't closed that area off. The bomb triggered a huge slide above us. All of us were buried and didn't have our beacons on. Scariest 2 minutes of my life, but I was super lucky to climb my way out of it. We were all super pissed off at ski patrol.

Would like to hear more about how you guys wound-up in a zone that was getting control work done, but either way glad you guys made it back to type this out at least. Its all good though, I winced earlier at the thought of skiing gobblers knob in BCC here in Utah one year with friends not knowing a single lick about BC travel, decision making, snowpack science, anything like that. Pure luck. You can get away with stuff but thinking back on it is always a fun experience haha.

Why the fuck would you dislike this douchebag

You'd think we would have taken care of all future avalanches in Japan 75 years ago.
