Hey dudes,

I was playing around today in AutoCad and I through this puppy together. I think it's pretty decent let me know what you think. It's 25' long and roughly 3' high. (Sorry for the large images)

Yea nice work i have been workin on Cad now for a bit too mostly designs for work!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

cad's cool... maybe I'll try making sum jib designs with it just for the hell of it, even tho I wouldnt be able to build the design

did you include all the nuts and bolts? cuz that shit gets crazy

Work is like anti-hippie spray; they stay the fuck away from it

that's amazing, my roomate steve who is a park manager for a ski area just built that same rail last week, same dimensions and it's even blue like that, deja voo

howd you make your rail tubular 3D (Thats an autcod question). Im trying to design a wave and want to give it to my Metal guy but can not get my rails to be tubular (3d).

Nice Box

Life is tough. Get over it!!!

Well, to answer all of your question.. I did not include bolts/nuts for this design although I have done that before and it is indeed a pain in the butt! Umm, To make tubular rails you need to draw the line you want the rail to be on, and then make it into a solid>cylinder. It's easy to do once you figure it out, but its hard to get it working initially. If you want to make curved 3D Tubular rails, you'll need to do a Revolve. That get's really complicated, that's how i did the ends on the rail.

Autocad is awesome but it takes awhile to get good and efficient with it. In high school we had 4 years of autocad, 3 years Acad and 1 year Architectural. So, i've been working 180 days a year for 3 years on Autocad stuff. It's pretty nuts.
