Audio licensing costs

Hey guys I just was wondering what an "average" cost for music licensing for an online video would cost? I am writing a proposal and want to get my music cost's at least in the ballpark. Not sure what songs I'd use yet. I figured some of you guys had went through this and could help out.

I dont know what kind of project you're working on, but it's probably not worth it unless you're doing some sort of corporate work.

well i know there is a site that licenses out music for promotional, wedding, event coverage type videos if you absolutely need to license a song because you cant find a royalty free one. I think like for an online streaming video its anywhere from like 50-70 bucks. ill try and find the site, but like i said, its more wedding ish type stuff and some other junk.

Unless you're getting paid a substantial amount/the video will be very significant, I wouldn't worry about it.

Is 8-10K a substantial amount?

Last I heard it cost ~$10K to license M83, and this was long before he got famous.
