Here's the info regarding the Red Dawn Shop Battle for 2009:

Date: April 9, (Thursday)

Where: Boreal, Registration 9-11, event from 11:30-1

Cost: Free except for $15 lift tix or season pass

Details: Teams are 2 shop employees + 2 outsiders. Any mix of skiers / snowboarders

Format: Jam format, teams are judged as a team

Prizes: Red Dawn Shop Battle BOMB, 4 Grenades, 2 pair of LINE Skis, 2 Ride Snowboards, 4 Orage jackets, 3 pair of Oakleys, 1 Nixon timepiece, many pair of Gravis Shoes, headphones from Skull Candy, denim from Commune, 1 GoPro Camera, 1 pair of Full Tilt boots, 3 pair LINE Poles, gear from Spacecraft. winning team gets it all....

Ive been twice and its incredible every time. First time i went there were drunken skiers throwing turkey legs around the room and eating potato salad out of chicks tits. Missing this is like salt in my wounds, stupid knee.

last time i was at boreal I saw nothing even close to resembeling a battle arena

is it still planing to be held in there??

it's going to be at the bottom of the 49'er chair. (skiers left of last year's arena). I'm going to check out the course tomorrow. If i have a little extra time, (tomorrow will be busy...), I'll post up a short summary of the course.

The battle arena is under water for the melt off and the snow has a rather interesting color form the parking lot so it not worth trying to fill it in...so needless to say it wont be in the battle arena.

We are building a new arena at the bottom on 49ner where rail alley comes out of the trees.

The setup will be:

1)a mini road gap with bonkable objects..tire, corrugated tube and maybe a rail or two spanning the gap

2)a tranny wall with the tower tube/hitching post/mini wall setup we did for the public jib park back in october. both right and left sides will have a zaugg cut mini hip...it will be tight and poppy so those that are worthy can boost it and everyone else can just have fun.

3) and if it fits, to the left of the mini road gap will be a few bmx jumps leading to the left side hip.
