Alright so I got the iPhone 4 for Christmas. I asked my parents if they could insure it through homeowners insurance and they were able to insure the entire thing. I lost my phone the last day of school and we put in a claim. My insurance company was able to get me a new phone and i only had to pay a $50 deductable. Oh, and the insurance was $5-10 a year or something like that
Long story short, get homeowners insurance on your nice phones/laptops asap! Oh, and MobileMe for iPhone users

That is a great idea. I think its $7 a month extra for insurance on my Android phone with Sprint, and its a $100 deductible if I need it replaced and it isn't covered under warranty.

Yeah, i have insurance with verizon, its 6 bucks a month and its 90 bucks to replace.

college bro. but yeah check with homeowners insurance before your phone company $5-10 a year beats $5-10 a month

Anything I own of value I have insured under homeowners insurance. Cameras, computers, etc... Just make sure you get a police report if anything is stolen, otherwise they wont GAF.

Congrats

And that is a good idea, Didnt know u could insure a phone without the crappy cell phone insurance.

I broke down the numbers for a representative, mine was $7/mo or $50 to service center for them to look at it and fix it. So if u can last 7 months without a problem on ur phone it doesnt make sense. Never buy cell phone insurance trough your provider.

I tried to insure my phone but apparently they don't do it anymore. Which is kinda stupid since both of my parents have it but whatever

I believe it depends on the vendor. If purchased from a reputable site like BH or adorama, they will honor as they are a licensed. I'm guessing that buying from ebay etc will not bode the same as they are not able to trust the seller for the quality in it's product.

and they got you a new iphone right cus they have to give you equal value? or just the money for a new phone?
