i need some help with my computer. i have a macbook that i broke the screen on, like comletely broken 800 bucks to fix. instead of fixing it for 800 (possibly more if theres anything else wrong with it) ive decided to sell it on ebay for parts and buy a whole new computer. the only problem is that i have a lot of personal stuff on it like pictures and music and saved passwords. im wondering if there is any way to delete all of this stuff before i sell it. in case you havent picked up on it yet, im not too good with computers. thanks in advance, +k for good advise.

SPARKNOTES: broke my computer, want to sell it for parts and need to delete all my shit on there first but dont know how.

go ahead and reformat the hard drive, after that you can go along and troubleshoot the network database for any hidden proxys.

is there any way to do this without the screen? id try to plug in a desktop monitor but i dont think that macs have the plug for it.

Yeah you just have to format the hard drive, "Your macbook has a Mini-DVI out plug on it. So depending on your monitor

you would need either a Mini-DVI to DVI or a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter.

You can buy the Apply brand adapters from an Apple store, and I would

assume that other shops (future shop, radio shack, etc.) would also

carry these adapters, just not in the Apple brand, not that it should

matter." I took that off this website- http://forums.macnn.com/69/mac-notebooks/331759/how-do-i-hook-up-mac/

Its basiclly how to hook it up to an external monitor.

that should do the trick haha

but if it get a way to see whats going on on the screen, how do i go about clearing the hard drive and wiping it?

Find someone with a mac screen, plug it into your mac and drag and drop all your shtuff onto a harddrive :). Oh, and dont ever buy a mac again ;)

yo i have no idea what i just even said, sorry but i made that shit up you should probably not do it.
