Attention Binding Nerds: Tyrolia Attack 16 Question

So just got the new skis mounted up. Needed to put my din up a bit higher, so I did so. While doing so, I noticed there are screws on the front of the toe piece that adjust the AFD.

Which leads me to ask, where is the proper place for my AFD to be in respect to my boot?

This is where it is currently. I haven't skied on it yet since it was just mounted. I am probably overthinking this, I have just never seen other bindings adjust like this nor have I noticed it on the Attacks.

So, where is the proper place for my AFD to be in respect to my boot?

You should just barely be able to slide a business card between the boot and afd. Tyrolia says about a .5mm gap in their instructions for the demo attacks I got.

By just barely I mean there should be slight resistance.

appears to be a little bit tight. should be 0.5mm.

Thanks guys.

The soles on my boots are recalled, but I just got in the new, functioning soles, so ill put those on and see if that fixes the gap. IDK how else I would do it because the only AFD adjustment I can see is moving it forward/back, not up and down. Unless I’m missing something.

it's on a ramp. moving it forward/back moves it up/down.

Alrighty, I'm guessing moving it towards the heel piece moves it down a bit. I'll go try that and report back, thanks.

Also keep in mind that messing with the toe height can affect the forward pressure so make sure you don't fix one spec and throw another out of wack in the process.

Exactly what I was worried about when I first came across it.

The way it adjusts I don’t think it will mess up the forward pressure, as all that moves is the AFF plate on the ramp, the heel peice and toe piece as a whole are staying solid.

That being said, I fixed it, unless I did screw up something else, but I don’t think that’s the case. Moved the AFD back down the ramp towards the heel and can fit a business card in there and slightly see a gap between my boot and plate.

For anyone who is wondering, the Attacks I have are the Attack 16 1st generation.. not the 2.0 with the new toe peice.

the toe height doesn't affect the forward pressure on that binding. or pretty much on any binding.

That’s what I thought.

thanks for y’alls help. AFD is now in the proper place.
