Attention Alta Skiers

Let them in if they never stop in the middle of a trail, never stop in a blind spot, never smear snow off gnarly rocky terrain, never go slow on traverses, and never stop on traverses.

they can hike

Love riding with my friends that snowboard, fully opposed to opening up Alta though. They respect the idea that its just for skiers and some friends that snowboard are all for Alta being just for skiers.

There are 3 other mountains all 5 - 15 minutes away from eachother.. Why do they even care?

Because they're paying taxes on the same land as you and snowboards have basically the same impact on the land as skis do. I think it's a valid argument, and I am fully supportive of letting snowboarders in. There seems to be a fear of change amongst old white men in Utah and Alta is no different....

this. people will say that snowboarders ruin traverses and track stuff up and blah blah blah but they have been incorporated just fine literally everywhere else. any argument you can make against a snowboarder's influence on the terrain can be said of beginner skiers too. why allow mono skiers but not snowboarders?

Want an answer to your last question? Because it's called mono skiing, not mono boarding.
