Atomos Ninja V + rain and snow

Hey everyone, I just picked up an Atomos Ninja V Kit for my GH5. Im curious if anyone on here has any experience using this in the snow/rain. Aside from using the hood, has anyone on here had any issues/remedies with water getting into the atomos? The main part I am concerned about is the fan vent at the top.

I work primarily in the mountain bike industry, but I have a couple projects this winter i'll be shooting here at Baker where it rains a lot and the snow is super wet. My GH5 is weather sealed so thats never been an issue.

Sweet pickup dude! The 10-bit 60fps will be awesome for skiing stuff. I have not owned the Ninja V myself, but I have owned an Inferno in the past and used a Ninja on a few shoots when it was rented or supplied for me. The inferno I had definitely took a beating over it's life in my kit, with that said, I never had it in snowy conditions...really only in very light rain, and that time in the rain was quickly followed by me moving it to cover as quickly as possible. Atomos has a reputation for rugged gear, but I'd still be as careful as possible. Not a fix for water damage, but i'd definitely get a tempered glass touch screen cover for it, or just a protective cover for the screen in general.

ANYWAY, hope you have fun with it man, we're stoked to see the results!

Great pickup! Similar to tucker I’ve only used them when on other shoots.

Portabrace makes this dust cover that I’m sure would help, you could spray some waterproofing stuff on it to help protect from rain.

Can also rock the classic plastic bag and gaff tape. Just focus on keeping the ports and ssd clear/covered of course.
