Why don't I ever see them in stores? Is it just where I live or is it like an online type a deal?

i've never seen a pair of punx in a store either. i can never find the 170 something size either.

stores usually have the punx and not the patent

Depends on the area. If your near a big park mountain they will have them. I had to order mine because the store carries atomic, but doesn't do to well in the park ski area. But when i order them they said 173 were sold out at the company. I told them to call back 10 times and they did and there was one pair. The guy said they would sell out if 5 mins so i got them quick. I don't think you will be finding to many 173 anywhere.
