Atomic Punx or Infamous

I'm pretty sure there're tons of reviews on both of them on this site, but anyway the two skis are very different.

The infamous is pretty soft, damp and playful. It will actually carve, but don't trust them or their durability when skiing rails. Skied them for 5 weeks combined and I really enjoyed them, but in the end they sort of bored me and made me want something more poppy.

Haven't skied the punx but I hear it is one of the all time greats. Stiff, poppy, durable, stable and balanced on rails.

as far as i know the infamous is a price point ski that atomic tried to market as something cooler by putting names like LSM, Jossi, and Nicky behind it. durability is a huge question mark on those

So it seems to me that the punx are the way to go, my only question is ive heard they are kinda on the stiffer end and a bit heavier, im about 6'1" and weigh 160, i dont think it will be much of a problem tho.

I skiied a friends for a lap and they didn't seem too heavy, I didn't check what size his were though

i'm 6'2 162 and ride the 182 punx. they're perfect for me. they do feel a little heavy, but not as heavy as something like a filthy rich in 181. they are pretty stiff so butters can be sort of hard but I haven't really broken mine in for that. other than that, they charge hard and ski switch pretty well. i have about 25-30 days on em in the park and the edges are all in tact and bases are holding up really well. they are pretty poppy, i just wish they were a little softer. i'd say get em honestly i'm really happy with them so far.

I'm on the 2014 infamous, mostly SnowDome riding but there's no cracks despite rail use and other than cosmetics, the ski is great. I've ridden them to charge around on mountains and whilst they're a bit floppy at speed, they hold up well for a price point ski imo

Does anyone know how these skis would preform outside of the park? I'm looking into getting a pair of 176's, and would use them in the park for the most part, but also would like to take them around the mountain outside the park, say in the trees and variable snow conditions, off piste type runs. Do they do well on non groomers?

They're park skis....they will ski groomers just fine. Off piste if you are a good / skilled skier you will be just fine on them. If you suck at skiing you will suck regardless of what type of skis your on. Yea they wont ski pow that well but its more than doable.
