Atomic Patent

Sooooo...I recently moved from Maryland to the Bay Area, University of California, Berkeley. I am planning on hitting up Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood relatively often this winter. I have a pair of line chronics, which i love, but I was thinking about mixing it up a bit this year and getting something to supplement these skis. Back when I got the chronics in 2009, I have them mounted -6 (recommended). However, last season I got into park much more and I regretted mounting them so far back.

I am looking for a ski that can hold its own in the powder , yet I want to keep progressing in the park. I figure I have a couple options:

1) Get Atomic Patents and mount them dead center and use them for everything...maybe even park specific and save my chronics for the icier days.

2) Get something like Atomic Bent Chetlers or Armada JJs and use the chronics for park. This option im a bit worried about because though the school has a cabin in Tahoe, I dont know how much I will be able to get up there right after/during a big snowstorm.

3) Remount chronics closer to center and ski everything on them.

Thanks for your input!

Either option 2 or 3.

If I were you I'd remount the chronics dead center and buy a powder ski. It'd be kind of a waste to buy a new ski that does exactly what the chronics do, just because you're not remounting them.

What is your size/weight?

I am about 6'3" and 185. Yeah that's basically what I was thinking as well. I've always wanted to try a symmetrical park ski though, I'm sure it's not that big of a deals but I've need been on a center mounted ski. Though I would absolutely love to pick up a pair of sick powder skis. I would have never needed them on the east coast!
