Atomic Infamous.

Yeah they were my favourite new park ski that I tried last year. They ride really well, soft buttery tips and tail with enough stiffness underfoot so you can still carve them and ski them fast. The swing weight is low an you can throw them around really easily. I had a pair of Punxs at the Start of last season and the only size atomic could get me te infamous in was 171. I was worried it would be too small but they were actually fine. I'm getting 176's instead of the 181's as you just don't new to ski them long. Overall one of the most fun park skis I have ridden.
 
I was looking to get these also, but for more as a crossover ski that could shred all mtn. Do they have any problem riding the whole mountain?
 
These skis would be for someone who is mostly skiing park, or just likes to jib all over the mountain. I would not call them a cross over ski just because they are symmetrical, so they will not be as easy to carve on. Why Atomic decides to make their non-competition park ski symmetrical I have no idea.

But if you ski the east coast like I do, it would not be a huge sacrifice.
 
Well, Jossi and Keefer both compete on it, as do a few other A-Team level guys. And it was never intended to be an all mountain / jib crossover type ski. Part of its appeal is that it IS symmetric for urban and rails and also on the cheaper side so when you finally destroy it you don't have to throw down a ton of cash for a new pair.
 
They work as an all mnt ski pretty well really. Compared to most park skis they carve very well, they have a reasonable stiffness underfoot so you can carve them pretty hard, and they carve switch so well. The slight rocker helps in fresh snow. They certainly are not a pow ski but as a park ski tht you can carve around the mtn they are good. If your east coast I would think they would be a great all mtn ski, if your west you may want a wider all mnt ski as well.
 
Hey Tom, how would you say they compare to the Chronic or Blends, I like the idea of sticking with a symmetrical ski like my Anthems but I like light skis so would be interested in the weight? Also do you know if it's an extruded or sintered base?

Yeah, i am east coast so all i really ski is park, groomers, and a little bit of shallow pow. But the pow is never further up then my shins. No durability/warranty problems with these either?
 
The Infamous and the Punx use the same P-Tex 7000 series base, one of the highest quality sintered bases on the market.
 
Where re you living? I know they are available online here in the uk already. Should be available most atomic dealers anytime now.

And with regards to comparing to the line skis, they will be a bit different to the blend or chronic. Blends are much wider and softer so better as a soft snow ski. The chronic is a Little stiffer tip and tail so not as playfull. Both feel heavier then the infamous especially swing weight wise. I would say something like the future spin crossed with the TC is kin of more like the infamous.
 
my friend had them for 4 months and they snapped after landing back seat but that could have just been bad luck
 
If you're struggling to find a pair of infamous' the volkl step is a ski of a similar shape and construction but the step has a longer turn radius. If you're interested I can give you a review of my thoughts and feelings having spent all of this last season on the step.
 
Something like that woul be a fairly straight forward warranty usually. Return the ski to the dealer you got them from and they sort out the rest. Atomic are usually very good at replacing skis, its one of the benefits from buying from a bigger company.

And skierman, evo should have them for sale on there site once they restock for the season.
 
My bad bumping a pretty old thread but instead of creating a new one I just wanted to ask what would be the best size for me if I get the Infamous?

I'm 6 feet, about 160 lbs and i'll be using this for probably 100% park.
 
Does anyone know the weight of Infamous? I'm 5'7 130 lbs. I had 178 chronics and they weren't too easy to butter. Wondering whether I should get 171 or 176 Infamous?
 
Really playful, and the early rocker on nose and tail really helps on sw ups and swaps. I haven't gotten a chance to try them on jumps thought.
