Atomic ffg 14 help

Hey just bought some on3p Jeffrey's and mounted them with atomic ffg 14s. I took them out a couple days ago and noticed that my toe is wiggling in the binding quite a bit. Any idea what could cause this? Could it just be that the shop didn't move the heal far enough forward? And if they do move it forward does it change the mounting location on my ski? Sorry if any of this spounds stupid just a little chapped that my new skis weren't mounted properly (or whatever the problem is)
 
90% of the time this is due to one of two factors, improper forward pressure adjustment, or (and more commonly) too much wear on the toe of your boot. However, STH/FFG bindings have a vertical adjustment to help with this, it's something sometimes shop techs forget about because it's not on every binding. Take them to a shop and have them take a look at it, they should be able to solve the problem.
 
If they are the driver version, they probably have not set up the toe piece correctly. Did they use your boots to mount with?

Take them back and ask them to check the toe height, wing width and forward pressure.

 
Yeah that's the driver toe. Have the shop tighten the wings and/or the vertical toe adjustment and you should be good to go.
 
Brought them in today. The tech re adjusted the forward pressure, the wings and moved the binding down.

The biggest problem was that the tow wasn't adjusted far enough down so I was getting a lot of vertical play. The problem is the tech said he had to be able to slide a card under the boot so he couldn't adjust it too low. Anyway he ended up putting the card under, winding the binding down as far as it will go and then slowly raising it until the card would move.

I havnt tried them yet but with the boot in it doesn't appear to be moving around anymore. I guess the guy who first mounted them was too generous with how much the card moved.
 
Sorry to resurrect this thread but I'm still having releasing problems with my bindings. Brought them to the shop and they made sure the forward pressure is okay and adjusted the toe (only wiggles on the rare occasion now). The din is at 8 and I'm 6'1" 160lbs. Is it safe to crank the din up to a 9 or 10? I have grown quite fond of my knees over the years.
 
what "release problems" are you having? are you popping out of your binding when you think you should be staying in?
 
Ya I'm just popping out when I don't want to like on fives off bigger jumps of scrubbing off speed on some wind blown or hard pack
 
If your forward pressure is still correct, then increase your DIN by half each time to which it's a point where you aren't coming out of your bindings to where you were coming out previously.

*Take these points with a pinch of salt as I'm not a qualified binding tech and I can't see you, your boots or your bindings to get a full analysis.*
