human civilization has gotta end soon mad earth quakes and shit crazy diseases (zombie risk) nuclear weapons and so on
so what state will the world have to be in before you pack up as many bullets as you can some key survival gear maybe a ham radio to see if everybody is still alive and head to northern canada to moss out and live off the land
id say once like 30% of north america has some gnarly death virus and no hospital is safe
or once a few nuclear weapons hit north america

if we ever get hit with an EMP bomb, which destroys all the electronics, then yes, i'm bailing. gonna go steal a few pairs of skis, and head north

pack my bags up and go deep in the mountains of BC or Alaska and have a snowmobile and my skis and ski till the day I die

Man who doesn't? I get so pumped watching 28 days/weeks later or any other sick zombie movie... I watched Stakeland the other day, shit was pretty good too.

I just want shit to get fucked up. This society is okay sometimes, but a fresh start would be interesting to say the least. I think shit is going to go down in the next 100 years or so. Definitely a crazy time to be alive.

If electronics no longer work and zombies are about.... I will be fleeing on my bike to the bridge to no where... then blow it up and live happily in the mountains overlooking los angeles. Pretty sure zombies can't climb mountains.
I will of course stop at REI/gun store first thing. I feel like Walmart would be instantly overrun. REI is a much safer bet when it comes to looting. Food isn't that necessary... I can do well enough fishing/hunting. The mountains face south and get plenty of precipitation and stay relatively warm in the winter. Perfect place to hang out and watch the world end. Although, if someone sets off anything nuclear in LA... I'm screwed.
I've thought a lot about this.

I am moving to some po-dunk town where everyone has guns and there are large mountains near by. Then Im safe. i have protection and an escape route.

That doesn't follow reality. Europe only stopped their thousands of years warring when everyone got nukes. All of a sudden the previously untouchable leaders could be killed, and they decided that war wasn't really their thing. Radical terrorist groups will probably never have significant nuclear capabilities. The closest we'll get to an apocalypse in the next 20 years is the collapse of some western governments, primarily the USA. But I doubt that even then we would revert to some mad max scenario.

anyone recall a recent history/discovery channel movie about the fall of modern society? It was set up like a low budget made for tv movie but had a multiple breaks where "experts" would share their insight.

ya that was sick wasnt it like what would happen if all the humans were gone and it was shit like the water systems would all flood and buildings would crumble and nuclear waste would start leaking and shit it was cool

well, we're past peak oil and just about everything in our society is tied around oil. we're also running out of fresh water extremely fast, so i don't think theres going to be a sudden disease or earthquake but the earth will definitely stop being able to provide for all of us.

i'd say within the next 200-250 years the population of this planet will be half of what it is now, and that means mass death. i wouldn't run away by myself, i think its a better idea to find a small bit of land and learn to farm and get water with a small community.
