AT Setup advice.

Hello Newschoolers I have come for advice. Currently I am stocking up for the season, and last season i was bummed i couldn't get out and tour with my friends so this year I would really like to put together a setup. Here are some specs on me:

5'6- 145lbs- expert skier- relatively new to AT- touring around the WB area

Currently I am riding a 176 Coreupt Slasher (131/112128) with Barons, and I actually really enjoy them.

So this is where my problem lies, Im not actually to sure what I am looking for in a Tour setup, I have a general idea, but im not certain. I have been looking at used 174 Armada TST, and they seem to be a preferred touring ski.

Sparknotes: Should i buy 174 TST's and slap on some Barons, and put FKS on my Coreupts, Or should I just Tour on my Coreupts?

Looking for any advice, tips, or general knowledge.

Thanks.

The tst is so damn light, and that's why it would be a great touring ski. Also check out the soul7 from Rossi. I couldn't believe how light it actual felt. Pair either of them with Dynafits and you're sitting real good.

im trying to stick with the barons, because i already have them, and id also like to be able to hit cliffs and land switch

Why not just tour on your Coreupts until you're certain touring is for you, before you drop some considerable £££ on a dedicated set up.

Ya I was thinking about it, but honesty a pair of $300 skis is nothing compared to putting together a pack, and the avy 1 course. Also not really a huge fan of shredding the resort with the barons.

Anyways this is probably what ill end up doing +K

I thought about inserts but im not crazy about marker in general, and I feel like Marker+FKS would be to many holes for inserts,

I think im over thinking this.

I am assuming that you have Barons are not Baron EPFs, since they are new for 2014. In which case, you could use any other Marker royal family binding (Jester, Griffon etc.) in the inserts you've put in for Barons. The toe and heel mounting patterns of all marker royal family bindings, excluding EPF models, is the same. So you could use your Barons only for AT.
