Many people been riding aspen lately? What have the conditions/parks been like?

I'm heading to aspen on Friday and skiing 8 days over spring break. Cannnnot wait to ride snowmass park and hopefully get some fresh too

Any suggestions on fun places to go out in Aspen that aren't insanely expensive?

I know nearly everything is, but any tips?

Aspen is the best it has been since the '83-'84 season which I did not participate in (too young). That season is etched in history here, I guess it was huge. In the ten years I have lived here I have never seen sooo much snow. I skied highlands yesterday and The snow was light and the sun was out. I have been skiing the backside of Aspen with the sled and it is goin' off back there. Much of the backcountry is suspect so be careful if that is your plan. Parks at buttermilk and snowmass are the bomb.

i am 13 and pretty small 5'4 and people have been telling me that theres alot of snow and if i ski some of the harder bc it might be hard to get through like im not strong enough but were would be good bc for me at aspen. and how are the parks? do u have any pictures or updates because the website has nothing on parks

You may want to check out Snowmass for bc style skiing inbounds. Hanging Valley Wall and Glades will have some drops and some fresh if you search. As you may or may not know, all four mountains have out of bounds skiing that is top notch. However, we have the most avalanch fatalities of any county in colorado so use your head, and don't ski that stuff without gear, knowledge, and friends you trust with your life.

i have been to aspen before and i am thinking of doing hanging valley wall thats pretty much what i meant i didnt really mean out of bounds b/c i know aspen has b/c style in bounds ok thanks. how big are the drops there

Well, the dumps are littered with cliffs. Trainors ridge has lots of stuff to drop if it is open. There is a nice little drop called Fred's rock far skier's right of Walsh's. If you ski in the trees instead of the actual runs you will find all kinds of stuff, just keep your eyes open, and look for the yellow signs. The lower part of the mountain on the 1A side has many different drops, but the landings can be sketch if it has not snowed in a while. Size is all over the place. There is small (10-30) all over the place. 100 footer at snowmass, but you need permission. Pillow hits in the Rock Garden. Hopefully you will have enough time to search around a bit.
