Hey guys,

Going to be in Aspen for a week from around March 28th to April 5th and looking for some partners to ski some backcountry and maybe show me around a bit; Fully Avy Geared here, super safe skier, lookin to charge hard, have taken several avy courses and always carry first aid stuff, extra food, layers, ect.. I ski a lot of BC in the Front Range and in Summit/Eagle Co.but don't really know any of the BC around Aspen. Will be staying right near the Gondola Base at Aspen Mt. prob skiing Highlands and Snowmass mostly. Anyways would really appreciate any advice on good spots from locals. If you seen me skiing holla at me; Rossi Steeze's with Dukes, Solomon Camo pants and Green Patagonia Jacket and pack.

Peace,

Phil.

Word.... well not much help but thanks for the info. guys.... still a ways off so we'll see what happens... and Aspen sucking in March/April? Dude I was skiing pow in late April last year at vail of all places, which is a good 2,000 feet lower than Aspen... sure its a bit more variable then, but late season is still usually pretty primo.... get your facts right son.

peace,

Phil.

hate to rain on your parade but aspen is in fact about 1000 feet lower in elevation than vail is, also last year was the best freaking year for snow ever! this year not so much. it has been sunny for the better part of the past month and it doesnt look like we are ever going to get snow. that being said there are places you can go to get fresh snow but the dates you are going to be here are a little bit late in the poweder skiing season. so bring a pair of skis that you can rip some slush in because the spring is always fun.
