Aspect Ratio Vegas help?

On the camera it says I am filming in 16:9 aspect ratio, and I was editing in standard (4:3?, so that makes sense why everything looked too tall and skinny.

I then rendered my last edit in widescreen, but nothing seems to change. Does anybody know what settings or something that might fix this?

 
File> Propeties then choose your template I use HDV 720-30P (1280by720) but thats cause I film with my hv30 which is 720p not sure what cam you have.
