I know theae are very different skis but Im not sure which to get. Riding park mostly big jumps, less jibbing, all mountain and as much pow as i can find on the east coast,

What do you think, leaning towards ARV, give me some pros and cons

thanks

haha defeintly ARV dont even think about t halls ARV is perfect for what you need. ar5 is good too if you want a thinner park/all mt. ski. ARV, dont think twice go with it

Get ar5s, ive riden both ar5s and thalls, ar5s mounted at recomended are good for everything they will be perfect.

Yea the ARVs are sick. Leaning towards getting a wide ski, currently riding Tweaks so it is a quite a jump but they seem fiting for what I ride

Or get next years AR6, which is like the ultimate super ninja combination of ARV and T-Hall!!!!111

Isn't the Ar6 just the 07 version of the ar5. Anyhoo Im probably gonna have to stick with 05, still leaning towards arv's

I have 04/05 ARV's and i find them a bit much to do serious park riding on. They are awesome in powder, which is what I use them for here in Austria. But in terms of jumping and jibbing they are a bit too much ski. I think you should go with the AR5's, it would be a better match if you still are serious about park riding.

Alright now i am debating between ARV and AR5. To say the truth I love the graphics on the ARV and I am so so with the AR5 however this is not a deciding factor, as said before this will be mostly park, all mountain and as much pow as I can find. I think i would like the extra stbility of the arv for big jumps as well. At sierra it says-

Whoever said you need two skis to ski park and powder obviously hasn't demoed the ARV. This is one of three skis this year which truly perform in the back country and on big tables and rails. If you're torn between a park ski and a powder ski, buy this ski and you'll have both. Sure, an 80mm waist ski spins a bit faster than a 92mm or 95mm will, but the difference on that good pow day will blow your mind. Plus, the future of skiing is making the natural hits at your resort an extension of park skiing and the ARV is loving it. Don't be afraid of the 185cm if you weigh at least 175lbs because softer skis turn easier and can be skied longer, especially in the soft snow. However, the 175cm is your best bet if you really want a park worthy ski to ski the occasional powder on

here is my honest opinion after riding/owning both ar5 and arv. i like my ar5's all mountain better than the arv's, even though the ar5's are detuned. on anything but an early morning groomer, the arv's get kicked around way too much. they ride ok in the park, i havnt hit many jumps with them though. Coming from another east coast kid, definitely get ar5's. you'll save some money too.
