ARV 96 or ARV 106

I live in New England so the snow isn’t very deep like out west and I enjoy skiing in the park but I have friends who don’t really do park so I usually end up skiing trails too. I am having a tough time deciding between the 106 or 96, I know the 106’s are wider but I need some input which ski is better for trails and carving it up but can also shred in the park ARV 96 or 106?

I just ordered the ARV 96. I think that 106 might be too wide for the East Coast (I live in Boston). We deal with a lot of ice and having too wide of a ski might make that difficult. Also since we don't get a lot of deep snow, it isn't worth the extra 100 dollars and the extra swing weight from the added width. I'd say the 96 would be a more versatile choice.

Yeah probably a good choice. I was gonna say unless you regularly ski Jay or other places that get a lot of snow or have another pair of skis for icy days and take a decent amount of trips out west, the 96 is probably best and will hold up for most stuff you ski.

Personally, I would pick the 96, due to the conditions you will be around. 96 is plenty wide for a few inches of pow. I would only get the 106 if you were skiing 6+ inches fresh all the time. But, both skis are good all around, so don't be afraid to use the 106s in the park too.

Versus the 96? Why. Seems odd

More often than not the 106 isn't going to be used to lap the park, hence the thinner edges to reduce unneeded weight and more enjoyable out of the park.

No question 96 for the east. They are both great skis but the 106 will be too wide on east coast bulletproof ice. 96 will also be easier thru the park

I really want to supplement my 98 Wrenegades with either the ARV 106 or K106. I ski on the east coast around 15-20 times a season while racking up around 5 days out west. I feel like the 106 could be a ton of fun 1/3 of the time, or it could act as more of an east coast pow ski (rare for me to be skiing over 10" of fresh on the east coast). 106 is too wide as your only ski though IMO
