dan your right..any movie is marked up 100 percent by the store buying it..therefore its going to be a fe bucks! the movie, 'bombshell' that local snowboarder/photographer/videodude made cost him $10 a shot. and that had no budget for locations, equipement or athelete royalties. movies just cost money to make.

Movie's are super expensive to make...it costs money to have athletes travle to remote places if desired, editing, travel expenses...90% of production companies don't even make enogh profit to claim taxes. However if sometone sets out to make a flick they should strive for 'dopeness' or nothing at all because if you buy a movie for $30 you want to see something good.
