I know im gonna get some armadas, but not too sure whether to get ar7s, thalls, or pipe cleaners. i ski mostly jumps and rails. with a little pipe every once and a while. +k for helpful answers

by the way im 5' 6' and like 120 pounds. i also like ti ski out of the parkk every once and a while.

id go with the thalls, cause theyre a good ski or jumps and rails, and also designed so they can be used in the pipe also

for you id lean towards the ar7 if you want to boost in pipe, kickers, and rails, the ar7 will be stable, yet its playful to butter around.

i cant believe you posted freeskier reviews. that is the biggest piece of poop ever. the more a company pays freeskier the better review and rating they receive.

Now for some credible information... I used to sell skis at a shop in my town, we sold a ton of armada, met with reps to discuss products ect.

Your pretty light, so a softer flex would most likely be easier for you, depending on your ability. How long have you been skiing for, what would you classify yourself as (beg-expert), what do you like to ski out of park? For sizing 166 or 171, I'm honestly terrible at size recommendation when I can't compare the ski to your body.

As for specific skis.

T-Halls: Soft flex in the tips and tails, medium underfoot for edge grip on hardpack. Their buttery, nice swing weight, durable like all armada's, ar50 sidewall (half cap half sidewall) to decrease weight. Their great for park, more rails small jumps, than huge kickers and pipe, but at your size, you might prefer a softer flex. It will be more forgiving, again depends on your ability and the tricks your throwing.

Ar7's: Stiffer flex, not stiff by any means, compared to a carving/race ski their noodles. Their medium in the tip and tails, stiffer underfoot. Their still just as light at the t-halls same great swing weight, ar50 sidewall. They are more directed to bigger jumps, rails, a bit of pipe, all-mountian, basically what your looking for.

Pipe-cleaners are ment for pipe, groomers, jumps, their bases are not as strong as the other two skis so they will get damaged easier on rails. They have a race-base so their super fast if you keep em waxed, but they dry out faster. The other two skis have regular bases so you can go longer between waxes and they will keep their strength. Great skis, not sure if these are what you are looking for.

T-halls and ar7's are very similar, I believe they have the same dimensions at each size. It honestly depends on your ability. Someone who is 6'2 200 is going to find these skis very different from you.

So basically how strong a skier are you? Do you think you want a soft or stiff ski. Thats basically it.

im not going to argue whether its biased or not but i meant the post as a early point of call where you can see the spec of the skis and the "opinion" of somebody who has tested alot of skis currently on the market and you would hope knows about the products. ultimately its the OP's decision as to what he chooses and whether they think its the right choice for them. i didnt mean it as a oh look the thall came 2nd in the freeskier guide you had better buy them (reading it again it kinda looks like that, apologies). at least suspects didnt come top this year.

this is not true if you take care of your skis.

they use a race base and it needs wax A LOT and if you do that it is super durable.

now assuming you are a complete park rat you probably dont care about the wax so i would then say stay away from the pipe cleaner.

if you were going to ski only park and pipe, then id say go with the thalls but because you said that you wanted to ski a little pipe and go out on the rest of the hill sometimes, id say the AR7's because you gonna want a stiffer ski for pipe, and mountain

Yeah, Race bases are dope they just need waxing a lot, and based on what OP has been saying, I doubt he'll do this.

my dad does own a tune/repair shop, so i could ust the pipe cleaners, but i think iits between the thalls and ar7s. thanks guys.

How aggresive are you on skis? What size jumps and rails are you hitting, what kinds of tricks do you throw in the park (360 Vs Switch dub cork), what kind of terain do you ski out of park?

i ski breck. mostly like 20-45ft jumps, all kinds of rails. i ski just some standard cliffs and stuff. what ski would be better for in bounds stuff?

neither they arent pow skis.

how old are you?

if you are still growing then the ar7 might be best for you, the thall can get slightly sketch if you dont land perfect at 45 ft.

plus when you get older your balls will get bigger and brain smaller and you will try bigger jumps and thusly the ar7 would be better. but if you can get new skis every year the thall is best for this year. or if you are done growing
