Armada Vs. Volkl

SO im looking at a new2 ski and ive narrowed it down to the armada alpha 1's the pipe cleaners or the volkl walls. +k for some insight on the best ski for me. I am 6'1" 185lbs ride 70% rails 30% jumps. And I still wanna go sherd and slash around the mountain some times (I ride at grouse seamore and whistler)

I have used my ARV's for the last 2.5 seasons and they have held up very well, minimal base damage (one bad core shot, but it was bound to happen) and the top sheets are holding up nicely, I have never had one complaint about overall quality, because most of the issue's I’ve run into, were caused by me.

By I have heard good things about Volkl, not a lot of complaints surfacing about problems with de-laming or edge tear outs, best way to find out for sure, is look for reviews.

Here is couple on the wall:

So yeah, do a little investigating, see the pros and con's and then check back in with your decision.

I think you may want to rethink your choice of skis, because both of those skis are pretty stiff and are made for jumps and all mountain. If you were skiing 70% jumps, it would be perfect, but for mostly rails you want a rail ski you should get a lighter more flexy ski.

your choices are definitely between the alpha 1 and the wall. The walls are extremely stiff, light, and amazingly durable, they can handle abuse from rails. Not sure about the Alpha as a rail ski but a definite jump ski, i don't see the race base holding up to the rail abuse, better to go with the alpha 2 since its stiffer than the alpha 1 and doesn't have the race base

You got that the wrong way around bro
Alpha 1 and Pipecleaner are the stiff ski's with race base.
Alpha 2 and T-hall are softer and dont get the race base.

um no i don't alpha 1's and pip cleaners have the race base
Alph 2 is stiffer than the alpha 1
mike hornbeck and jacob wester explain the skis on armada's website so what now bitch

the previous volk walls were really stiff, they changed the flex of the ski this year and are way softer, and to whoever called the walls an all mountain ski, its a symmetrical ski.

Pretty much same physical spec and riding ratio...and I m on Armada ARV

I think Armadas would treat you very nice based on the idea that Alpha 1 is little bit stiff and super

durable all around the mountain

i'm 6'3" and i beat the shit out of my volkl walls, and they still keep kickin. i have last years, and i also have this years, and i'd agree theyre a little softer this year. i've been buttering a bunch so i'm getting some early rise in the tip, so eventually they might match the alphas haha

theyre decently light and poppy, so theyre super fun on rails/jumps. plus the symmetrical dimensions kicks ass

i've never ridden the alphas, but i'll def back the walls

whats with all the confusion on the alpha's.... alpha 1 softer and race base

alpha 2 stiffer and doesnt hav the race base

ok. well i hav opted out the alpha's, because ive heard that they are not that poppy. I can confirm this because ive hit a few jumps on my jjs. so ive narrowed it to the pipe cleaners and there race bases and super light construction, and the walls and there symmetrical design and there durable yet light construction. DOES ANY BODY KNOW THE WEIGHT DIFFERENCE?? (caps so u dont hav to read the whole thing)
