Armada Thall size: 166 or 171?

So I decided on last years Thalls (08-09) for a ski, but I was wondering whether I should get 166 or 171. I'm somewhere between 5 6 and 5 7, and i weight a little less than 130. I pretty much only ski rails and jib, or at least I did last season, and I barely ever hit jumps over 40. Although I might try to learn a little bit on jumps this season, I kinda perfer short skis cause theyre easier to do tech on rails with and don't get in the way as much. Normally I would probably choose 171, but I'm not sure... I also want to be able to butter around and such, and I had major trouble buttering 171 ar6s (which are barely over my head).
Thanks

I would go with 171s, you shouldn't have to much trouble buttering them since they are more flexible then the ar6.

they dont seem that much softer than the ar6, and it seems like length makes a bigger difference in buttering...
and yeah theyre gonna be centermounted

chances are ill get new skis next season so ill only have these for one season. my last pair of skis i thought i was going to grow too, but I didn't and they ended up being too long for my liking.... so maybe i should just get the ones that fit me now?

well if that's the case, then go with that if you really want 166, I personally thought 166 was way to small for me (I'm 5' 8" and 150lbs), but if that's what you want then get them.

if you already have a pair of 171's, why not keep them? Why go and buy a smaller version of what is almost the same ski? And why would you get a new pair of skis after 1 season if the ones you have a perfectly fine.

well the ones that i have are a few years old and kinda beat up, i was thinking about selling them, idk.... also, theyre too stiff for my liking. so i was thinking about getting new skis that were softer and more suited for what i like to do. if they really are basically the same ski, then I should definitely look into getting a softer ski....

will 171 be easy to butter and jib around on right now? cause i thought they were a good bit easier to butter than the ar6s, but if theyre really that alike like sweetums said...

k good thats what I thought....and yeah I agree that 171s are more stable and better for landings and jumps and such, but wouldnt tech and such be easier with 166s because the extra length gets in the way?
