Armada T-Halls?

So I'm looking for a soft jib ski (im 5 6, 125-130lbs) and of course I've heard a lot about Lines, but it seems like a lot of people suggest the T-Halls as well for butters and stuff.... my questions is do the butterzones/flexpoints/whatever armada calls them really work? because I know that the last couple of years the ski has been pretty stiff, and it seems to be advertised as a ski that can do all-mountain and jumps and such.... so what's the flex like?
also, how are the 07-08s that are softer? I found those a couple of places in 171....

a mate got the 08-09 t-halls, watching him ski them and just flexing the ski was pretty amazing, they looked very playful, perfect for buttering and light in the pop.

i'd love to see how they would compare to Line Afterbangs tbh

i have a pair of 09 166 thalls and to me it seems like a soft tail pretty soft nose and stiff underfoot and really poppy

I've had every t hall so far minus the white ones and they have been pretty wicked for butterying buuuut on the other hand kiiiinda shitty for jumps. I found them almost too buttery for jumps if your planning on doing anything of big size get something a little more stiff maybe just get the ar6 instead but if you live on the east where nothing big is ever built get t halls

so how do the new ones compare to the older, softer ones? cause the newer ones seem pretty stiff when you flex em in the store.... and also, I barely do any jumps, I just jib and do rails. plus im looking for a soft, buttery ski and im only like 130....

Aren't the 09s much more stable than any other Thall, since they have more of a flex zone than being soft throughout? an Armada guy said that are AR6s with the flex points moved in closer to the binding, for easier smoother butters(09 Thalls, the previous Thalls were just noodles).

My friend flexed the afterbangs and he said that they were much softer than my 07/08 T Halls (soft ones). I don't really think that my T Halls are that soft but I don't do big jumps so I don't know how they would be for bigger jumps but for rails and small jumps they are great!

when somebody says 09, they mean 08-09 northern hemisphere winter. 08-09 Thalls and 09-10 Thalls are the same ski.

im not much heavier, but i'd say go for the black ones with the rasta stripe on em if you can get some of those i think 07-08, you'll butter those mad easy and they'll be perfect for your weight. Check out some ninthwards too like the comte you can get for pretty cheap and thats also a dope ski

They are very buttery, but they have more of a flex point(which is close to the binding on both sides of the ski) rather than being a total noodle. IMO you should just save a bit more for 09 isntead of being cheap and getting 08s.

so they would be just as easy to do butters and presses and play around with for me? cause im really light and all... and they seem stiff when i flexed em in the store

just get 08's, you'll also save like 200$. That ski could keep up with whatever i was doing in whistler the only thing it was bad for was black park which has jumps 50-80 feet (used dynastar TM limited for those) but you probably wont be doing that by the sounds of it so you'll be alright with a butter ski. and dont get me wrong they are sick on jumps, just not super big ones

alright, although moneys not a huge problem, and your right that i wont be hitting 50-80ft jumps that often... although what size should i get it in? I can find last years in all sizes, but im having trouble finding the 07-08s, i think i can find some in 171 though.... and also, if last years really can still butter well and all, id rather go with those

the only reason im not telling you to get 08-09 is cause i know nothing about them, havent flexed them or anything, but go with your gut, just close your eyes and choose a ski. chances are the 08-09 isnt THAT different from 07-08 so it's not going to effect your skiing that much. I've been able to do good butters on every ski ive ever ridden minus the Dynastar Trouble Maker (limited) which I bought for jumps. You'll be fine man, just get the 08-09 if your havin trouble... How tall are ya?

ya, they said they beefed em up, but whatever... and im wondering cause im not that heavy at like 125-130..... oh and im 5 6 or 5 7; ill probably grow to 5 7 soon enough though

well man, at 5' 7" you could definately ski on 171 if you wanted to for rails i like shorter skis better anyway. Im 6' 1" and i ski on a 181 for jumps but my rail skis are 176, easier to whip around and dont get in the way as much. Anywho i think you'll like whichever year you buy cause every T hall ive ever had has been a sweet ski. have a good season man.

so you think its probably between 166 and 171? and yeah i agree, on rails it seems like its easier with less ski to get in the way in such, although a bunch of ns members say that longer skis are better for rails.... anyways thanks for all the help, +k
