Armada skis

I need some advice.

I have the chance to get 60% off some Armada skis today.

I ski probably slightly more out of the park than i do in it, so want one that is going to handle well outside of the park. Also i'm 200 pounds so need a stiffer ski.

I have 4 choices

AR6

T-Halls

ARV

El Rey

Which would you recommend?

the arvs would prolly be your best choice, outa those. but they are kinda soft i believe not possative tho

I don't think any armadas handle ice overly well, I would go with the ARVs though, they're a great ski, super fun, and they spin quite well too, even at normal mount. I have ARVs from 2 years ago, and I love them. I'm only getting new skis because they got small on me. For the ice thing, if you tune the edges constantly, they should handle Ice pretty well. I don't generally like my edges sharp if I'm riding park though.

yeah, I always thought the ar6 was the best all mountain ski. I hear the arv is way softer, not something you want for ice. I was gonna grab the ar6's for this past season in the east.

ANT???? thats like 107 wide. Thats not going to be much use here, with icy conditions and very rarely getting any powder. I cant imagine it being very good in the park either.

Im 180ish and i ski the ar6s about half and half in and out of the park. Theyre great in both, but i guess i havnt had the chance to try out the arvs which ive also heard good things about. Id go with one of the 2.

both are fairly soft but the AR6 is stiffer then the V

man for ur wait i dont think any of those skis will be great unless u like softer skis haha

but out of those id rank it ass

1.Ar6

2.ARV

just bassed on the flex to ur weight

ar6 is great and better in the park. it is my park/all mnt. ski and i lve it i would go with them

I'd go the AR6..I rock the AR5 in Australian conditions which is probably worse than where you ski, and they hold up fine. AR6 is only 5mm wider and similar stiffness to the PE

Yo so I ski the Ar6 on the east coast and it handles great for almost everything we get (barring over a half a foot of pow, it sinks a bit)

Its plenty of stiff for me (150lbs) and has dimensions ideal for the east cuz our "technical terrain" as it were, is all about wicked tight stuff.

However, it's a lot more open out in NZ right? Like, not too many trees right? If that's the case, go with the 188JpvJuliens since they are said to hold on ice alright, are just about big enough for ur weight and are more ideal for bigger turns.

Get back to us on the type of terrain u ski (tight mogul filled tree runs vs. wide open steep bowls without tress), not so much the snow quality.

Don't write off the El Rey. That ski is stiffer than any of them and wider than the AR6. Don't be afraid of the cap - Armada does not sell shitty product. I spent a lot of time on El Reys last year. They bite into ice incredibly well and they're fantastic all-mountain skis. Plus you can get into those for crazy cheap. I think retail was like $399. Use the rest of your money to get SOLID binders and a season pass. I have no doubt you'll be happy. But choose as you like.

I wouldn't recommend the ANT. It's like a solid 2 x 4. Not for park and not for turning. Great for pow and charging though.
