Armada Park Skis

Armada just picked up Sammy C and I really hope they get him a pro model park ski. Armada park skis seem super solid. Good construction, sick graphics, Ill team, amazing media, og company. I would definitely get some pipe cleaner skis from them if they were more symmetrical. the sidecut is 118, 85, 108. Not that great for switch riding.

Dude Pipe Cleaners will ride JUST FINE switch. Unless you plan on skiing pow switch, you will literally not have a single issue, other than the fact that you might dislike how full camber classic dimension skis ride. People haul ass in skis with around that dimension in the tails for X Games, Midwest, East coast, literally everywhere. that is a proven dimension that is reliable and works well.

About Armada, Not a fan since they started experimenting with their epoxy use. I see Armada's delam all the time while their older models hold up just fine. My friend has a pair of Edollos and they are delamming underfoot after skiing a ffew times on the east coast (so barely skiing at all). I've seen this the past 3 years for their skis. It always seems to be underfoot delams too.

I ski Armada AR7's which have similar dimensions to the Pipe Cleaners and they ride perfectly switch. Just as well as my previous Amplid Provokes which were fully symmetrical.

I've never had any issues with the durability of my AR7's either, they're a great ski.

You're really going to let a directional sidecut deter you from buying a ski? Lol. Tons of people and lots of pros ride skis like that switch all the time...I know I do.

I ride thalls so similar dimensions as the pipe cleaners, ride switch Great, came off a pair of symmetrical skis (Klint Pipestars) and can't tell the difference

It's something to do with the skis that are being made at Blizzard. all the old models that are made at AMER are great. I couldn't tell you what Blizzard is doing wrong. I'm not that into construction but I agree they need to address the issue. Armada is known for durability and needs to get this fixed.

OP: So Torin has an issue skiing the PC switch? Not sure I can agree with that one. PC is probably the best park ski I've ever ridden. and I have literally ridden every park ski out there. Wait till you see what they have in store for next year. It's gonna be dope!

I talked to a friend who knows an Armada rep and the rep was pissed cuz Armada tried to cut costs by lowing the amount of epoxy used according to the rep and that he was telling all his kids (hes a coach) to not buy armadas because they will just break or something like that.

Maybe Blizzard is being lazy about the epoxy use?

I would be surprised if that was the case. I would put my money on the process blizzard is using vs. AMER. Its a delicate and precise process to get those materials to bond just right and if one thing is a little off it can ruin the whole ski.

Yeah I am like 99% sure this is not the case. First off why would a rep be talking shit on their skis as it is his job to do the exact opposite. Also I rarely see anyone or talk to anyone with a delamed pair of Armadas. Me included, in the 5 pairs I have owned I have not had a durability issue with any of them and one of them are this years Edollos that have over 30 days of hard riding on them. And that is absolutely incredible for me because I go through skis like its my job. ALSO I worked in the warehouse for a while and this never once came up or anything like that.

And last, get the Pipe Cleaners. They are one of my favorite skis I have had and I have nothing bad to say about them. Don't worry about them being non symmetrical. I promise you will not even notice it while shredding switch.

I definitely dont disagree why yyou think that, but this dude is a coach first, and a rep second. He wants whats best for his kids and he was being honest which is cool of him (agian not a personal experience but I talked alot about this with the kid who found this out in person).

Its not that big of a deal if a ski isnt symetrical you will be fine bet you wnt even notice the diffrence.

1.Dont be a puss

2. Get pipe cleaners

3.masturbate to them.

4.Use product of step 3 on bases for speed

5.Ski them,love them

6.Orgasm

7.??????

8.Profit

Asymmetrical skis are better because your stance skiing forward is totally different than your stance skiing switch. Plus, they carve much better than symmetrical skis.

well said. Get pipe cleaners and mount 1.5-2 back and you'll be good to go.

u mentioned next yr... will PC have new dimensions/construction?

I can not speak to this too much. If you love the PC/AR7/Thall chassy not to fear. it will be around, However it will be much harder to come by that it is now. Unless your local ski shop is like my store you wont see it on their wall. It will also be a bit lighter than it is now. beyond that I cant say much more than you're going to be very stoked on how the line is changing next season. Unlike the rest of the ski industry, Armada is still building new products for our style of skiing.

I'm Skiing everything for next year Wednesday. I'm very excited!!!

Dude I was worried the pipe skis wouldn't be exactly what I wanted but when I saw them everything about them was sick the graphic, shape, flex, and riding them is even better just because the dimensions are off by a hair doesn't mean it will mess up your skiing they have a race base so you'll have to wax em more often but they are DOPE. Seriously low swing weight and is just like an all around great park ski. If you aren't a fan of the race base go for the thalls or ar7 but trust me the pipe skis are sick I mean just look who rides them, torin slays. But it'd be cool if they gave Sam a pro model.

For the record all you Sammy C fans he will not be getting a ski for next season unless its a late release. There is nothing carrying his name in any of the catalogues for next season. Sorry to rain on that party.

I'm assuming that catalogue is just for people ordering armadas next year for retail. Don't suppose you know when the general public can drool all over it?
