Anyone ski the ultralite JJs?

Im in love with my G3 empire 115 carbons, but they are starting to separate and I want something new for next season. JJs are a similar size at 116 and supposed to be light.

Any reccos on other similar skis? I ski whistler/blackcomb and this would be my resort ripper. Love pillows and cliffs.

Cheers

I’ve been on the ULs for the last two years and I absolutely love them! Granted they are a bit light and loose on the hard back or tracked out snow. Which is where I like the regular 116 more. But you definitely can’t go wrong with this ski! I’ve owned 3 pairs of 116s now and they’re hands down a absolute badass ski. Another one to Throw in the mix which I think is a strong competitor is the new K2 reckoner 112, that ski rips!! And is a solid competitor to the 116. Any more questions let me know.

Thanks man! Yeah I'm used to my light carbon skis on all terrain so I don't mind it on chatter etc. Im also a light guy. I havent heard of or considered the k2 112- could be a fun option as well. Maybe a little easier to flip and trick. thanks!

I got them this year. They are funnier and easier to ski than my Poachers. they're amazing, you don't even feel the 116mm.

Just a bit too soft if you want to drop massive cliffs. I don't know how THall can ride them on the FWT

well, if I recall correctly, empires are pretty damn stiff. JJ ultralights are very soft. At that point you might want new armada whitewalker (basically stiffened up JJ UL)

I dont have the UL, but I got the 116 ARV JJ, its fairly soft, like suggested, BC120 much stiffer.

Depends on what you want, no idea how they compare to G3 empire.

I'm always amazed how big of shit he stomps on the UL's. Same with Durtschi and the newer bentchetlers. They stomp some massive shit on those noodles

Ah yeah, Im actually on a prototype of the empires that was made softer than what they went to production with. still fairly stiff in my eyes though. Will have to check the UL in person and see how the flex feels.

Do you think they ride regular retail versions? I'm pretty sure they have custom skis

Always wondered that too. I wouldn't be shocked if some pros ride custom versions but it seems odd for Tanner to ride a custom that's maybe heavier/more stable but then advertise him as riding the UL. Doubt armada would do that but who knows
