ARMADA HALO FLEX PATTERN

hey guys, recently purchased a pair of Armada Halos(2013, 176cm)

on their website they are rated 5/10 for soft-stiff(in the tips). Also, the Thall ski is the same rating for the tips.

why the hell are my halos stiff as fuck in the tips?

worth sending them back to armada to get them checked out under warranty? or am i just being an idiot?

i know they are different skis and their technology in each are different, but on their site it is rated the same flex for their tips. MY halos are different than Thall tips.

please, any and all HELP is welcomed

thank you,

K_howard

halo's honestly are less buttery than they say they are, stop complaining about the 600 dollar skis you got...

ive had both and yea, the halo's are stiff as balls compared to the thalls. thats just how they are.

they are rockered, just wait to use them and youll be over them tips in no time. also they brand new got to break them in a bit

honestly besides the ARV and Al Dente the butteryest skis armada makes is the pipe cleaner. once i broke them in my 10/11 pipe cleaners are ridiculously buttery

Holy, I did the flex test on some at a store in whistler, same year as yours, and it was ridiculous how soft they were.

ding ding ding.

if the tips were any more soft you would get chatter at like 3mph. once you ride them and lean into that rocker elf shoe tip you will realize how buttery and awesome they are.

Hand flexing skis will never show how they actually behave, this is why demo is key to understanding what you are buying. The hand flex between my Libertys and my Fischers were pretty much the same, the difference on piste was night and day the Liberty (morphic) are a buttery noddle ski while the Fischers (watea 84) lay tracks down a solid piste. Hand flex in my exp does very little so simulate how the core of the ski actually behaves under load, nor does it give any indication of lateral grip or rigidity or how a ski will behave on a given surface. I find ski compaines flex guides have no actual basis for comparison as I think 90% of the time they have just made it up, actual flex of a ski has too many relative factors to be simplified in the way most compaines do esp with the effect of the actual shape of the ski on the flex of the core.

Also no one seams to mention these skis are stiffer on each side and should be skied as such. as in theres a definate left and right ski as the ski is thicker on the outer edges
