Armada Edollo Mounting point?

This will mainly be ridden on lower snow days / no snow days at whistler, but won't exclusively be used in the park. A lot of the people i ride with don't ride park any more, so there will be some pow runs and tree runs being had as well. I have pow skis I will be riding 90% of the time.

Factory recommended line leaves 34 1/4" behind the line, and 36 1/4" in front of the line.

I'm kind of thinking to find dead centre of the ski then make a line 1.5cm back for the tech to mount from? Any thoughts? Does everyone else just mount these dead centre? Will be mounted with pivot 12s.

I’ve never had dollos so I can’t say what feels best. But going off what you said 1.5 back should be good. (Any one that knows more than me on this correct me if I’m wrong)

i got edollos with pivots this season, decspite being a park skiier i mounted 1.5cm back and it looks and feels just like center, i think this is mostly becuase edollos have a wider tip which makes it a bit for heavy in the front and also pivots tend to be liter in the back compared to other bindings, The extra centimenter also helps with turning and ive had no isues in park, Its just as good as center, i recomend 1-1.5 back especially since your not a full park skiier but you would be fine in park.

I would mount recommended because it is the center of the camber on the ski. I had a pair of bdogs where they had a similar recommended line. With armada they are really good about placing the rec line.

hmmm shit. just dropped them off. tech is gonna mount them 1cm in front of the reccommended line which is about -1.5cm behind middle of the ski

thanks for the reply. did you mount 1.5cm behind the 'factory recommended line' or 1.5cm back from the middle of the ski?

talked to someone else who is riding them this year and they went with the recommended mount point. they absolutely destroy the park so I think it must be a safe enough bet lol. I think they're on armada flow team or something and seemed to think dollo chose where to put the recommended mount based off of core centre.

1.5 back is a good mount! That ski has a big sweet spot so anywhere from like -3 to dead center is gonna feel good. Good choice!

recommended for sure then. armada mounts PLENTY far up with their recommended line, you don't need it any higher

*classic mounting problem*

15 mins after I dropped the skis off I read this thread and heard back from an armada athlete who recommended mounting at factory recco'd as thats the core centre / dollo put the line there for a reason.

I call the shop and speak to the ski tech who I had just spoken with and told him to keep it simple and just mount at recommended. He said no problem, I will add a note on the sheet. I asked if he wanted me to come in to re do any paper work and he said no its all good, I got this.

well of course he ended up mounting at the original spot we talked about, which is about an inch in front of factory recommended.

I've skied them twice now, conditions have been variable. a weird crust of ice over some new snow, very hard to ski in. as this isn't going to be strictly a park ski for me I am wishing they were mounted at factory reco. on groomers they rip and feel good though.

I spoke with the shop and informed them of the situation. they "owned" that they messed up but were being pretty lame about it. They said they will remount the skis free of charge. however now I will obviously have two sets of holes in the ski which is a pain in the ass, and with pivot bindings the holes will all be very close together. any chance of a solid resell price in the future out the window, which I told the manager who tried to tell me if I ski the skis for a couple years that should be the last of my concern and that the damage ill do on them otherwise will lower the value more. I was like ok... thats so debatable. tell me the last time you ever bought a used pair of skis with two mounts on them. he acknowledged.

soooooo now I'm not sure if its worth moving back a bit and having a second set of holes in the skis, or just keeping them mounted where they are. I got him to say they would also mount my JJ's for free when the cast system comes in next week (I was recommended by a few people that one employee in particular has experience mounting the cast system who I would have mount them). the manager thought that a remount + a new mount was kinda of asking a lot but agreed to do it. In my head thats hardly much of an ask. They prob pay ski techs like $22 an hour and it would take an hour of employee time. Versus my $800 setup when I never buy new skis and totally splurged this season.

bit of a fuck up on my part, bit of a fuck up on their part.
