Armada ARV vs. Line Prophet 100's

I am looking to buy a new pair of all mountain do ANYTHING skis. i want a one ski quiver so i can be prepared for any conditions without buying like 4 different classes of skis.

The Armada ARV is defiantly a one ski quiver but i think the Line prophet 100 are also very versatile. can u guys help me out? im stuck.
 
You could go with the 09 Line Blends they might be more comparable to the ARVs. And there a ski thats made to do everything a little softer then the prophets because there is no metal in them but still stiff enough to do it all plus they have the same wasit witdth as the prophets this year.
 
I have the arv's and they're great for everything. They kill it in the park, carve nice on groomers, and are fun in the bumbs and trees. I skied them in 17 in. of fresh pow out at vail and they worked decent (i couldn't just float across like a fatter ski would, but they were still lots of fun.) The only time they have trouble is with ice since they arent that stiff. Otherwise they're sick.

and i'm 5'9, 160 lbs. and got the 175's mounted at -3 just to let ya know. pm me if you have any questions
 
haven't been on arv's but prophet 100's rrriiip. super solid and stable on all types of conditions & snow. just keep in mind that if your "do everything ski" will include alot of park, you might wanna look at other options aswell since prophets aren't really made for jibbing & park.
 
I own 2009 185cm ARv's in ontario & BC 180 lbs.... the ski does everything..pow, fresh, crud, skier chop, slough, hardpack... except use a race ski for a course and ice - they work better. Works in the park , a bit wide for the pipe but stable on landings... Has enough float but the binding mount has a lot to do with it. Big mtn mount is -7 as on the ski topsheet. This gives u a great pow & all mtn. U lose deep pow float with each cm u move fwd and get better park & switch riding. Griffons.

My pal at 135 lbs ski pro has 175cm ARV's quote "this ski does everything".... -4.5 mount Griffons

I understand that Armada stiffened the ARV by 9% ? for 2009. So maybe it's not as soft as it used to be. I wouldn't say it is a soft ski but it is certainly playful and fun and can absorb. Depending on your weight, athleticism and aggressiveness this ski can show some different character to different riders. For muscle & strength skier who wants a very stiff board go elsewhere. If u want to go to the park occaisonally - great it has bigger edges, but it has a faster base and a lighter core that may not be as strong as park specific skis. It always becomes a compromise. Best that I found....

I have the ARV's and theyre a really fun ski, super playful for butters and anything around the mountain, theyre good on rails with theyre width. I skied them in about 1.5 feet of fresh in fernie and they performed surprisingly well. A great all mountain ski.

I dont know much about the Prophet 100 but i know they would be much much stiffer with the metal plate but that would also make them more stable when skiing big mountain
