aight heres the deal. it may get confusing but deal.

I have a piar of atomic sl 9's for racing just for my highschool team and this is my last year and they are tiny on me now. My bro is a frosh so im gonna give them to him cause they are perfect for him. Usually i ski on my pe's (the old ones) but im gonna need a new pair soon. my parents said they would buy me a pair for going away to college next fall but i could get em now. Most likely ill be going to school in VT so i kinda want a bigger ski such as the ARV or the Pocket Rockets. But i want to ski these skis this year, so how are the ARVs holding up on some harder snow such as park. i plan to be in the woods alot this year too, but i always love throwing down in the park and pipe. any help thanks...

alright, well i have the BC's, and yes i know that those arnt either of your suggested options but they have the same demensions as the pocket rocket, im not sure about the arv.....but still....i live in the tip of maine where the snow is 95% of the time icy hard, and i still hvae fun on them, yes they are a lot more fun on soft snow, but they dont suck on the hard stuff either, and im happy with playing the warranty deal., i use my skis hard, and most of the time they hvae some 'defect' rossi is willing to replace them for, so i have new skis to work with the next year

or maybe the seth pistols

I want to tell you to get the Madn AK, but that doesn't seem like the ski for you. I think a pair of Lines like EP pro, SS pro or the 4frnt MSP in like 180. Those are going to be the best all around skis.

yo, here's the lowdown. I've ridden mine for three days now. One on a ass deep pow day, and two in sketchy conditions and in the park. The skis rock at everything. They have a pretty soft flex which allows them to kill the pow, but also turn easily which comes in handy in tight trees or when you're racing on groomers with lots of little kids on them. In the park they are awesome. Pretty light swing weight for a ski of their size and soooo smooth on the landings. You could land to flat and the tail will ease you into it like it's a perfect transition. They have a ton of pop too. I don't know about the pipe though. I'm sure they aren't the best there, but definately rideable.

If you're on the east though and just looking for an all mountain ski, go with pollard pros or something a little more narrow. All of line's stuff this year rocks and is pretty wide so check them out, but I love my ARV's out here in California.

^Haha, that sucks. The guys at my shop are so chill. They gave me pro-form price for my fk bindings and mounted and detuned for free. And all of that was in a two day period so I could take them out two weeks ago. You'll be stoked once you get them though, they rip. I've got one word, compress the tails before a cliff and use the pop of the skis to boost you off the edge. It's the best feeling ever.
