Armada AR7 vs Halo pros and cons

hello,

I have found several what ski questions about those two ski's, beeing new to park skiing I am planning to buy park ski's and I am really looking to decide between those two. Having read a lot about those two I have still some questions left.

First my situation, I am 35 of age, about 5'8" and 132 lbs

I first stood op ski's age 15 months! My father was ski instructor, so I was able to ski double diamonds age 4, I ski about everything with snow on

Now I am looking for something new and do some park, jumping, railing, maybe half pipe

Seems to be Tons of fun speacially with my kids getting older

So now I need proper ski's

First I want Armada's, likes me cool

Second I want the durable S7 Base which brings me down to AR7 vs Halo

What I want to do? Bit of it all, jumps rails pipe, but mainly I am going to ski lot of groomers as well, I ski in the alps on vacation but in between indoor as well ( some indoor park as well )

I ski lot with my wife and kids, but sometimes fast as well or steep ones like the swiss wall

Using race carvers upto now my questions are mainly

1. How do the AR7 and Halo compare on groomers

2. How in icy conditions

3. At Higher speeds

4. Is durability the same

5. Which ski is easier to begin jumping, rails, pipe or whatever is fun

I am looking at AR7 171cm vs Halo 176 cm

I favour smaller turn radius (why I had Atomic Slalom Carvers)

thanks for some serious advice experiences

Gtz

before everyone ventures out to yell at you for grammar, i'll point out that you're from the netherlands.

i'd say the ar7 will be better for all mountain versus the halo. the halo is more a of a strictly park ski. not to say you can't use it other places, but the ar7 is probably better out of the park while still being a good park ski.

well if your takin runs in the park your edges will become dull overtime so it wont hold as well, but they will still be fine, for your size for the halo look at the 182 and for the ar7 look at the 176 to 181, the 182 halo will ride like a shorter ski due to the early rise, the ar7 is stiffer than the halo, so it will be better on jumps and in the pipe, the halo will be better on rails and medium jumps. they will both do fine on groomers

Their is minimal rocker on the halos. I doesnt mean shit.

They ride short because they have such a small turning radius.

In how far does the race base on the alpha 1 make a durability issue compared to the s7 base? Is the alpha 1 an alternative because it is stiffer than the halo?

i would say alpha 1 would be good for you because it has a much lower swing weight then the ar7 which will be good for someone new to park. and stiffer then the halo so you could still go fast on groomers.

Thanks a lot, I am ordering a pair of Alpha 1 at 182cm, the stiffness compared to swing weight argument sounds logical, had not thought about this solution before, but seems to be perfectly what I am looking for, thank you all for the perfect advice on ski lenght, and ski type, lets see if I can learn some nice tricks now gtz

I disagree i have ar6's which are nearly the same thing but from 2 years ago and halos and i gotta give the all mountain performance award to the halos the ar7 or ar6 from my experience hooks alot in powder while my halos are skinnier in the waist but somehow float pow and stomp cliffs almost as well as my hellbents and they both perform different on groomers ar7 will have a wider turn radius then the halo making it harder to ski trees and other variable terrain
end rant

Broke it off a 5 foot jump, the guy at armada compared the impact damage to a car hitting a try witch it wasnt... they are less then a month old, he wont warranty them.

He laughed at me when i called and hung up on me then i hung up on my mom and when we asked to talk to his manager he wouldn't let us. The guys from Armada are bunch of assholes

How the fuck is that a rant?

Also if you can really ski the ar7 has a small radius. Over 25m is big but 20m that shits tiny.

Havent skied the Ar7's. I have the Halos and I they felt stable even at 74mph and went thru death cookies with ease, wudnt take them in anymore then 10 inches of pow. Durable and stiff so far. I try not to flex my skis at all so they will stay stiff, dont know if anybody elses have flexed out.
