i am looking for a ski this year and i heard the ar7s are really sweet. im 5'10 and 150 lbs. i ski about 60% park,20% backcountry, and about 20% of the time i just play around.when i ski park i do about 40% jumps and 60% rails. i want a ski that is stable on jumps (not over 50 feet), not alot of swing weight, light, good for learning, alot of pop,fun to jib/play around on,and really durable for rails.

if you actually read all that thanks...

+ karma for good answers.

AR7s are pretty sweet overall. I had a pair from 08/09 and they served me well. Sorta soft in the shovel for me personally, but I'm much larger than you. They're a great rail and jump ski, so no worries there. They're not going to float super well, I won't lie. If you want a ski thats a bit more all mountain, try to find a pair of last years Kung Fujas's or Line Blends, along with a ton of others (wider 95-100 waist).

Overall, if you want to get into a bit of all mountain, few inches of fresh snow from time to time, and ski park alot, then the ar7 is a solid choice. They're all super durable and pretty light this year.

also i want to know if its soft because i have heard its soft and ive heard its stiff.i wanna learn butters too...

by backcountry i dont mean over 3 feet of powder because my hill just doesnt get alot of fresh snow.. and that is almost exactly what im gonna be skiing.

thanks +k

if you want a soft ski to butter on then the thall will be better, however the thall is tough to ski in powder especially if you center it. The ar7 is stiffer then the ar6 used to be. I skied the ar6 for ages, as soon as they break in and start to rocker they are really good in both the park and the powder. overall if you want a soft park ski get the thall and also a powder ski, if you want one ski to do it all get the ar7

Break in and start to rocker....? you sure your ski is okay? I have Ar6s and they are super fun, they will do anything well, rails, park, hucking off stuff ect, They also run really fast, they run faster than any of my friends brand new salomons and my 6's are a couple years old. I am guessing the ar7s are really similar to the ar6s, and im thinking about getting a pair soon. Cant go wrong with armada. imo

the T-hall looks like its a more playful ski. is that true? i watched the product video and it said the swing weight is really good, and it is a softer ski.

Im curently on the thalls from this year, they are really, really good in the park just not really so good in the powder. There soft when they start to break in, at fisrt I was quite surprissed that they were stiffer then my old ar6's but they had broken so much i had rockered both the tip and tail(which I actually really liked). Overall though if your only going to buy one ski and you are planning on skiing outside the park I would buy the AR7.

Also just to through it out there maybe look at the salomon 2012. there a bit wider at 91 underfoot and rockered in the tip and tail. This makes them great in powder but also really nice to butter about on in the park.

last year i skied everything with the afterbangs and i was ok i am really considering the thall because they look really really fun.

does anyone know the weights of the thall and ar7?

and +k

its gonna be really similar same dimensions basically the graphics and flex are about the only difference. I would think they are the same, but if not theyre really close, if your still decided between this weight shouldn't be the factor because it is so close

Okay, what the hell? How in the world do you rocker your skis? At first I thought you just meant the tail so I figured you were a bad skier that leaned back too much. But now you're saying you rockered the tip and tail. Are you sure you know what rockered is because you'd have to be doing a shitton of pretty damn hard butters to rocker both the tip and tail of a ski, especially if you said you did it when you were breaking them in... /rant, I'm just baffled right now.

Teh ar6's I had, I had for 3 seasons, all skis will lose there camber with use and when this happens chances are they will rocker in the tip and tail. The pipe cleaners I had did it within the first week of use in the tips. Im hard on my stuff and ride them untill there dead. And yes I buuter spin all the time on them, mainly off jumps so I just find that once all the camber is gone they just naturally rocker. I was not complaining about it I really like it once they rock out.

do you guys think the extra money spent on thalls is worth it? i mean the afterbangs or the masterminds are also good looking skis just a bit cheaper.

Oh alright, well 3 seasons isn't too bad, I thought it was less. But one week for the Pipe Cleaners, seriously? That's just ridiculous.
