so yeah.....there i was at the ski shop looking into my next ski.....there they stood gleaming on all the glory.........BUT i dunno......i need some real suggestions about this ski (not some idiot kids to say yeah man buy the ANT and take it to the park yo!!!)

im 6'2 205lbs, owned the jp vs julien last year......loved it but a little soft. any advice?!
 
Most every review I've read said that they a 100% backcountry booter ski. You could take them into a regular park, but I don't think you'd want to. It's alot of ski.
 
To me they sound perfect for you because you said your jp v. jul too soft. To my understanding the ants are a siffer ski that's just a little bigger than the jp v jul.
 
Theyre pretty sick , if i owned them i prolly would not let them touch a rail, they are pretty big for park might i add. Stiff as Robert Downey Jr. after a long night. Pretty stiff, if you ski about 90% backc to 85% backc i would give it a go any less no dice. Prolly not a good ski for east coast either , unless you kill it and go out west tons.

check out the volkl gotama too volkl is bombproof or if you want something a little thinner check the mantra out
 
I have owned them and all I have to say is they frickin rock.

Super stiff which demands a lot of leg power to keep them from getting away from you.

Solid underfoot, great for straight running.
 
hey thanks so far!!! uhhhh yes they are just for bc and pow.........i gotta ar5 for the park and crap days. i took em to the shop and 'the man freaked out on me telling me that they are only for alaska and shit' he knows his stuff, but not an armada fan. he said there was no side cut and super stiff......i was kinda intimidated seeing them, but i was intimidated by the jp vs juliens too.....but they are my favorite ski ive skied on so far (except being a little soft) the karma's were a consideration, and if i dont like these, then ill sell em on ebay next year and gettem. whats the flex like on them?
 
anyone else feel a bit powerful waxing big mountain skis for the first time......kinda godly?!!? i sure as hell do.....wow......tomarrow is the day i will die. ps thanks for all the good advice and links too!!!! the teton posts were the best........the remark about seth and his size kinda measured it up. im 6'2 205.......i think the ant will be my beast for the year!!!!!.......or until i die anyway....thanx!
 
The JP vs Julian's are made for BC jumps and booters, the ANT's are more big mnt. However JP used his pro model for his lines in WAR and Anthony used the ANT's for jumps, I know they are their promodels but I'm prety sure Tanner used the JP's more than his pro model last year.
 
i'm going to ski right over you new ski tips on the first run in the morning and help you break them in! that way you don't baby them all fucking year like your JP's
 
how could you........your were fucking behind me all day.....i waited for your slow ass for like 2 minutes on bowl 5!!!! ps everyone.....they are sick for powder, cliffs, and busted up snow........just sick.......groomers however.....haha....its not the best for that!!! armada's slogan for the ant's is very true......point and giver!!!!!
