Armada al dente length?

188 is a big ski for the park, I am 5'10 also and I ride a 176 in the park. That being said you are right, the nose rocker is going to make it ski shorter, also with the size it is underfoot it is a great all mtn. jib tool. Although I am not sure how comfortable I will feel on a stair set at boreal on a 188cm ski that is like 100mm underfoot... I wish they would make like a 182

It's all preference, I'm 511 and I ride a 185 arv for everything and 182 halo for park only

Definatly do not be scared of the length. I spent quite a bit of time riding whistler yesterday on the 188. Im 5'11 170lbs. They certainly did not feel that big, I certainly would not want any shorter. The rocker in the tip is pretty long so they ride at least 10cm shorter in the park. I never once noticed the length when jibbing about on them. I took them through some deep powder and the length was perfect, in the deep snow you use the whole nose so effectivly you are getting a ski in two lengths. It feels shorter in the park but rides like a longer ski in fresh snow. They were incredible on the had pack too. I was ridding Dave Murry and got way over 110KM per hour on them and they never felt unstable.
Honestly one of the best skis I have ever ridden. I will be getting a pair of the 188's as soon as I can.

Hall is like 5'6" and has been ripping the 185 arvs since their start. Rocker is gunna make them feel smaller. Demo a pair if you can. Otherwise go with what u think will work. I got talked out of the 187 4frnt MSPs a couple years back and have been kicking myself ever since. The Al Dentes come in a noodley version and another version that is far stiffer. My buddy demoed the 183 or 182s and said he would def feel comfortable going bigger; hes 6'. He said they kill it switch. Im def going 188 with the noodley version, just because i miss my original arvs (noodles).

They were mounted at recomended, which I think is -2cm from center

im 5'10 and im getting the 178's, ive been riding 181 cambered ski last 2 seasons so ill still have those for like bigger features, but im getting these just to play around. Does anyone else think the 188 would be to heavy and big to play around in the park or what? i wish there was like a 182 or something.

If your looking for just a messing around ski you will prob be ok on the 178 but really at your size you want the 188. I'm about your height an weigh 170lbs and the 188 was great for me. But I would not ride it as a pure park ski. You could but I would go for a thall or ar7 if I just rode park in 176 or 181. If your looking for an all mtn ski you can also take in the park some times the al dente is an awsome choice but go 188.

The 178 is pretty soft and unstable if you like your current 181 then the 178 is going to feel small. The tip rocker is pretty long so they ride short. The 188 felt like my 181 thalls, but as I said I would not bother with them as a pure park ski. Fun all mtn job ski though if that is what your after.

Have you skied long skis before? I'm 5'8" and ski 176 Punx, which are right at my height. The 178s would be right around your height too. Most of the time, if you ask someone at a shop they'd say 188 would be insanely huge and 178s would still be big. NSers seem to have a different opinion, which I agree with, but I would try to stick around your body height.
Bumping this - copping a pair myself.
I ride 176 thalls right now and looking for a fatter ski under foot that's fun to play around the whole mountain an take into the park.
I'm 5'7" 160lb and my guess is the rocker will make this feel like (if not a little shorter) than my 176's with full camber. I should go w/ those over the 168's ya?

and if you prefer a longer ski then short. lot of homies i ski wit that are 5'10 there all ski in
the 180 range. if i was you i'd go 188, will ski like a 180/181. 178 will feel more like 170/171.

Id say definitely go for the longer ones. The Al Dentes have a "thin tip" design that makes them much lighter and thinner from the beginning of the early rise to the tip, so you don't notice the length difference nearly as much while spinning and laying bangerz. Having said that, due to the early rise, they also won't feel nearly as long as snow and are surprisingly maneuverable. whichever one you get you'll have a blast. Id say if you're spinning to win, go for the shorter ones. But if you're surfing swellz, spreading butter, and taking normal park laps go bigger.
