Arizona's new immigration law

Fuck illegals. I know a guy who is a web page designer from Venezuela who is scared for his life there, but the US won't let him come over here. Unskilled Mexicans break the law to come here however and get amnesty? That's bullshit

aaan as usual cut off by NS, this is ridiculous.

anyway. as was already covered. there is no such thing as a normal looking american. they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. what you just pointed out is exactly the problem with this law, its an excuse to hassle Hispanics, regardless of how they got here.

Sí. Estoy casi fluido en español

Incluso sé cómo dar vuelta a mi teclado a modo de español

jajajajajajajaja

from what i understand. it allows police to use prudent judgement, much as they would with a criminal.

whats a criminal look like?

ive been pretty busy lately, but does it allow cops to pull people over only on the grounds of the police thinking they were an illegal immigrant? or is it that if someone with a van full of people gets pulled over for speeding the police are allowed to ask for citizenship?

because in my mind there is a difference.

As far as I know, a criminal can be anyone.

Would you pull over Bernie Madoff?

I dont know how the police are up where you're from... but I know what police in the southwest are like...

There are definitely those who would take advantage of this law...

I know right? Its pretty bangin. You get hassled by the pigs, you play scared white boy, they leave you alone. Its amazing. I mean it sucks that cops are all racist it really does, but god damn if I haven't reapt the rewards from it.

that's what a normal looking american looks like..FUUCK YEEAHH!

but in all seriousness, when you see a huge ass group of mexicans outside of a Lowes, you're not gonna think, what good, hard working americans.

even people who are against it. we're all stereotypical, i'm just speaking all of your minds.

i don't see why you guys want illegal immigrants in our country

i'm TOTALLY fine with them doing it legally, but when it's illegal, it's a problem.

you can think that. its the governments duty not to.

no one has said we want illegal immigrants in the country. we just dont want them stopped in a way thats going to lead to the harassment of anyone that looks remotely hispanic

this is true.

cuz i know plenty of hispanics that looked like they were straight up from mexico but are 100% american and have every right to be.

but in arizona, it's a major problem.

be proud to be an american! show ur i.d.

they did a poll in arizona to ask the citizens if they thought illegal immigrants were a problem.

5% said yes 95% said no comprendo

not really funny. at all.

"looked like they were straight up from mexico" really? really? this is just ridiculous.

oh sorry i'm not being politically correct.

who looked a lot like they were from the hispanic race.

i forgot liberals get real butt hurt over that kinda shit

cuz i know plenty of hispanics that looked like...they were from the hispanic race.

your garbage doesn't make sense when you've actually got to respect people, huh...

what the hell is wrong with saying "straight up"? It's just an expression, and it's a lot less annoying than some I hear all the time. I think its time to change your tampon if that really bothered you enough to be half the body of a post.
and as far as this new law is concerned, I can definitely see the resemblance that some people pointed out to a certain European country right around the 1940's. Enacting this law is heading the opposite direction from where we need to go. All that will come from it is more animosity from Hispanics. Especially the from ones here legally, working their asses off to feed a family, who can now be LEGALLY harassed just because they look mexican. The only approach to illegals that's going to have ANY results is some kind of way to incorporate them all into a system, so we know who and where they are, and so they can be made to pay taxes.

it has nothing to do with the "straight up" it has to do with the fact that he seems to be under the incredibly naive impression that you can recognize an illegal immigrant by looks.

i agree with this. i am actually studying WW2 right now in school, this is a pretty accurate summary to the lead up of the war. if americans allow a small law such as one stated above, it could get worse a little bit over a long period of time, and keep getting worse. im sure most americans dont want to be regarded as the modern day nazi's, and im not talking about grammar nazi's. amiright?

I'm half white and half mexican and just moved from Vermont out to Utah for the winter where illegal immigration is a pretty big issue. Out here Mexicans get treated like absolute shit by a surprising amount of people. I was a bit caught off gaurd and offended by all the bigotry and racism i heard. It doesn't matter if your here legally or illegaly they'll still look at you like your a dirty fucking mexican. From what i've witnessed the cops already pull you over because your brown so this law isn't really anything new.

he said the opposite of that

But, no, it's not naive to think you can spot Mexicans. Sometimes do you mistake a Brazilian exchange student for a Mexican? Sure, but really who cares. White America is the right America. Make them all feel unwanted, the sympathizers too. Move to Mexico.

Definitely not ALL of the issue concerning how nafta screwed mexico, but it's a fantastic example...

And as always, well put.

I thought it was a little wordy,

"the only thing mexicans are good for is picking vegetables for americans, we screwed them by giving our own welfare queen, subsidy-teat suckling farmers more than they're worth"

is more to the point

our country is fucked anyways. might as well just accept it and go with the flow cause theres no point in getting all worked up about something you cant change

to quote a Canadian William Osler:

By far the most dangerous foe we have to fight is apathy - indifference from whatever cause, not from a lack of knowledge, but from carelessness, from absorption in other pursuits, from a contempt bred of self satisfaction

that sums it up.

we basically told Mexico that it would benefit the working class Mexican with better jobs, and faster growth. In fact, while jobs did increase, they were in low wage industries. I believe they are called "maquiladora" jobs, something NAFTA supporters claimed would be eliminated by the treaty. Rather than improving work for the average Mexican, all the treaty did was create more future-less, benefit-less, jobs with no security whatsoever.

Also as you mentioned Mexican farming gets destroyed when they cant compete with subsidized American farming.

question for you guys on NAFTA. ive studied it a decent amount, and the question i always come away with is:

if Mexico is un able to compete with free trade (IE no tariffs) then what makes anyone think they would be able to compete without free trade (IE Tariff, etc) because wouldnt the business just go to china? I understand Drews argument with the corn farmers, but in terms of labor and production. if they cant compete with China etc with no trade barriers in place, then wouldnt they be even worse off with the trade barriers?

this law is great. illegal immigration is a huge problem and needs to be dealt with. although it may seem bad to racial profile, its a necessary evil right now. not only are we being affected, but it is also a big "fuck you" to all the legal immigrants. to become a citizen, its a long and difficult process and if we just allowed people who hopped a fence to stay, it would undermine the whole citizenship process. not to mention if we cannot keep track of how many people are here, everything from taxes and how to spend that tax money gets all fucked up.

"Long and difficult process" doesn't even begin to describe how hard it is, its impossible to get in this fucking country. The best way to do it is to get a student visa, stay, and get married to a citizen. Plain and simple. Maybe if the US wasn't so anti-immigration, there wouldn't be as many people doing it the illegal way. The laws here and loopholes that hold you back are insane. Also, I am a white European, would they really stop me and ask me for my status? No, because I don't look Mexican. This is a law against Mexican illegals, not all illegals.

Just because immigrants like myself are willing to do the shit jobs that pay shit to make it doesn't make immigrants bad. I don't hate people who play the system cause I played the system too, a majority of immigrants like me had to work around the system to stay here, not because we want to, but the other option is way too expensive and complicated. I have loads of friends who got married for a passport, its normal where I live. By making the process so difficult, the US only makes immigrants look for other routes towards citizenship.

were not saying immigrants are bad people, we are just saying that we as a country can't pay for all these immigrants coming in. it's about time we did something and arizona is going in the right direction by taking these drastic measures.

well yeah, that's why arizona passed the law because every single illegal immigrant coming into arizona is coming over the borders from mexico. and don't go off on the whole "shit job" deal because all that's doing is insulting us americans by assuming we all will not work hard labor jobs. i'd happily work (and have applied) to many jobs that would be considered shitty jobs but hey guess what, some of the companies are only hiring people who can speak spanish as well as english which is a clever way of attracting those immigrants who will be willing to work for less. that just makes things harder for the rest of us who are scrambling for jobs as is. the companies that ask for this, the job has nothing to do with communicating bi-lingually with anyone- unless the supervisor doesn't know a lick of english.

^ I don't know about you or your friends, but the legal immigrants I know, mostly from africa working in the healthcare field, hate mexicans. They worked hard to get awarded a chance to come and live here while border jumpers simply run across. The legal immigrants we have coming in have to pass english and aptitude tests, must have a job lined up, ect. The people we do let in are of a higher value than those who sneak in. So what if the focus is on mexico, they are the only bordering country that is causing issues. If white European immigrants were barging in by the boatload we'd take measures against that. And why shouldn't we be anti-immigration with unemployment rates as high as they are? This is the greatest country in the world, we can be selective about who we let live here. Hell, I think we should be kicking more people out.

There might be places with higher GDPs, less crime, where overall people are more satisfied. But size matters, they don't have the geography, resources, or sheer magnitude of options that are here.

So if there were more white immigrants, this law would be fair? Excellent logic.

There is a pretty decent sized Serbian population in Arizona, you don't think they don't bring any of their family members there illegally? You know what equal rights means, when you apply a law to everyone, not a select few.

Let me add one thing about the notion of we should "be kicking more people out." Your grandparents or great-grandparents would probably punch you in the mouth for that statement. It enrages me when Americans get all up in arms about immigrants coming in and "messing things up." When in reality it's not that immigrants are coming and doing bad things, its just that the immigrants that are coming in aren't white. This country was built by immigrants, plain and simple. African slaves made America's economy strong enough to fight off the British, the Irish and Italians built up major cities, and now Mexicans feed you and clean up your mess. Now you want to limit them coming in? That kind of nationalistic ignorant talk is what breeds fascism and racism. All those groups I mentioned were persecuted and the same is happening now, the past constantly repeats in this country.

Just remember this, wherever you came from was not probably a good situation. Most people end up here because they live in some shitty village and either milk cows for their entire life, or take a chance in America. Don't get on a high horse about immigrants when you probably aren't that far removed from goat fucking eurotrash. America is a country full of people who came to this place as a last chance at a salvageable life, and that includes me.

Illegal immigration is bringing our country down, end of discussion and finally someone is doing something to stop

all the illegals from hopping our borders....haha let's see what "The Guy From

Boston" has to say about all this immigration....
