Are you ready for some football?

I just finished my friend's highlight film. It's his junior year at Park City High School. Just thought some of media and arts could critique my editing. I did not shoot the film (seeing as i'm on the team), but all the editing is done by me. This is NOT the college cut, seeing as colleges want simple and dry with no music, but i did do this for an Adv. TV Productions project. Tell me what you think.

that was fucking awesome. i want to go wreck some bitches and play football now.. but alas... i would die if i played.

I thought this was definitely one of the better high school football edits that I have seen. They are always a little bit difficult to get that wow factor because the speed of the game is so much slower than what people are used to seeing (professional or D1 college). I thought you did a good job of keeping it fast paced and upbeat.

Thank you so much, exactly what I wanted to hear. My main factor i kept in my mind the whole time editing was tempo, tempo, tempo. Glad it was noticable.

^^ and about the music, I figured some people on this site wouldn't enjoy the song choice (including myself), but i figured i was appealing to crowd that isn't necessarily skiers. it was kind of painful listening to it so many times, but i got through it.

10/10 for err'one

Really? i was thinking slow it down. Show how the kid can see and read the play. Point him out before every clip starts so you know who you are supposed to be looking at the whole time. sure coachs know they're supposed to be looking at whatever number/position but set that attention, don't make the coaches reviewing the tape look for it.

yes, and that's why i posted this version instead of the college recruiting version. as i said in the title, i made one version (this one) for a music project for a tv productions class and have another version (college recruiting one) with no music, no slow mo, blatant arrows and highlights, specifically for those college coaches watching, but i see what you're getting at.

bump to say this edit got me a nice job of editing highlight films for our team once a week for every game of the year. Stoked!
