So I normally don't buy food at the mountain, it was always too expensive.

But now, holy shit!! It is absolutely completely and utterly out of hand. 16 bucks for a chicken finger and gatorade at sunday river, and TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS for a chicken finger, brownie, and drink at waterville.

These are things I keep hearing, now sure if it's true or not, but shit! Is this only happening around the east coast mountains, or everywhere?

Bring a cup-o-noodles from your local cosco (like a case of 36) for 5$, get a case of gatorade, and then your lunch is set.

That shit is fucked up. I eat McDeez on the way up then ski fromlike 9-3, then eat a snack/lunch that I brought, and maybe buy a mssive tub of curly fries for like $4-$5 and then if I leave the mtn. from 7-10 I stop at like Taco Bell on the way home sometimes and spend like $4-$5 there and get a LOT of food.

Haha, that's exactly what I do! And I bring my own gatorade and tons of granola bars

But still, cmon. These prices are sky high for shitty food!

yeah i remember paying 30 dollars for like a burger fries drink and a cookie at vail. its a brilliant scheme if you think about it, everyone who ski's is pretty well off, plus when you're cold and have been skiing for a few hours and you walk into a mountain top cafeteria and smell the food you just give in. haha

I always bring a bag lunch. And you should make time to prepare something decent. Because Ramen Noodles and Cup-o-noodles is really bad for you. So much damn sodium. You're better off with a sandwich and some chips or something.

And yes, the prices at my mountain have skyrocketed.

ive never bought food at a ski resort... ever

its either oyster crackers

steal some rice crispys

or eat later i dont really need to have lunch...

snowpark nz is pretty much the oposite to what you guys have. It mint. They have amazingly good wedges that are like $6NZ for a big bowl that would easily do you for lunch. And they have a mean bar and resturant in there to chill in.

Yeah its like 12 for small pop, chicken strip, and fries...I get employee discount...3.50...I still think thats expensive, so we whip out the grill behind the instructor lodge and cook some dogs...

At my hill its like 4$ brownies, 5$ for some spicy fries. I like the pizza place there its so good but like 3.50 for a slice.

If it's a slow day, I'll just make a sandwhich at my car. I keep a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a bottle of honey in it at all times, great lunch.

If it's a day where I'm charging all day, I just skip lunch altogether. If I'm really active, I won't even notice until about an hour after I've stopped running around.

Mountain food prices are ridiculous, but they have you by the balls, unless there's another restaurant right there across the street or within easy reach.

Usually ill make some tuna to bring to the mountain and on the rare occasion I don't I usually wait til I leave the mountain to get food. Also, I don't mind justifying to spend the money on clam chowder in a bread bowl at waterville every now and then because it comes to $7.30 after taxes and it really does fill you up and tastes amazing. Other that the clam chowder in a bread bowl, i would never buy anything else from them!

its like 9 bucks for a soda and chicken fingers that come with fries at alta

not bad and at albion i ocasionally get the hookup

its nuts up here too man, but theres like food for thought and dvzs not too far off, so its just a quick trip for some good food. id rather drop $6 on two slices and fries than $18, so its worthgoing out of the way for sure.

SR blows for food prices.

I usually bring a shopping bag full of food, chips, cookies, crackers, candy, and drinks, half of which goes in my bag I ski with, so I can eat in between runs.

No need to dick around in the lodge.

Surprisingly my mountain is not bad at all. Like a decent meal for 9 bucks. Its kinda pricy but not to bad.

I usually bring bread and something to put on it in the car and then bring water or something and then you can even eat on the way up the lift

I paid $20 for a CUP of soup and a budweiser at the sundeck (lodge on the top of aspen mountain). That is pretty comparible to the prices in town though. On the plus side it was a darn good cup of soup and I got all the crackers I could stomach at no extra charge.

it's like 17.50 at stratton for a wrap and a drink
and like 25 if you spring for some soup... it's ridiculous

yeah its rediculous.... 3 bucks for a poutine WHAT THE EFF???? hot dogs 2.30 :) one of the bonuses of riding at a 150 ft bump. cheap fewd.

I always bring my own lunch, couple cans of pop, bottled water and a few beers. Lunch is usually a sandwich, made with lunch meat and some colby jack cheese. Beef jerky and crackers and cheese also make good additions to the sandwich. I never ever go into the lodge, I think I did once all of last season. If you are actually buying food at a mountain, you deserve to pay the price. Be smart, bring your own damn food.

most mountain's revenue comes from food and non skiing related profits

i NEVER Buy lunch. i bring sandwiches from home, or at school, i get a bag lunch with a sandwich, cookies, drink, chips...all for a swipe of my meal card. even when i was at home i would still make a sandwich to bring.

after haveing cup-a-soups for almost everytime i go to the ski hill for the past 3 years i have sort of gotten sick of them but i dont think im ever goin to bring enything else.

shoot. at this small place in Washington called loup loop. its like super cheap.

hole pizza for 12 bucks. feeds like 4 homies. haha
