It's really not the same. The point you are trying to make is very good but it's not the same.

1) The Christian world stood up and condemned Hitler and his actions and took action against him.

2) Hitler wasn't what you would call a "Christian Fundamentalist" his actions weren't even based on a religious motive. He used the Jews as scapegoats for the reason Germany was in a depression.

Ice-is-Scary's comments weren't inline with what many people believe. He is however entitled to his opinion, and if you allow his opinion to make you a hateful person you are no better.

 
One issue that the world of Islam needs to address is a unified denunciation of terrorism.

A lot of people feel that the Muslim world's silence in the matter is due to the fact that behind closed doors they agree with the all the terrorism attacks.

I don't feel this way personally but I know and have heard many people who don't care who we retailiate at as long as they are muslim.

After all, these attacks are not political for the terrorists they are religious and in many people's eyes this makes the whole religion guilty when they don't speak out.

And the reasons why these extreemists are pissed off at us has nothing to do with a diffrence in religion, but has everything to do with our plutocracy and polotical agendas. I wont deny that the people who get hurt and killed by terrorists arnt the ones who deserve it, but the government is supposed to do whats in the best intrests of the people it serves, and if its in their best intrestest to not be blown up by a bomb in a subway car, then the government should be doing everything in their power to stop it. Not just fighting an unconstitutional war. It is one step towards stoping these attacks, but its not the only step and its certinaly not the best step because a) it hasnt been working and b) its not prevention, its reaction and doesnt even go close to solving the problem.

A reaction is due to cause and effect. There must first be an action for us to have a reaction. I know as well as anyone who pays attention that Iraq had no direct ties to 9/11, but those events lead up to the war we are in now. As well as the war we are fighting on terrorism.

We did not start the war on terrorism, it was a reaction as you stated. A reaction is not the cause of any problem it happens after the problem. In this case we did not directly cause any problem.

Arguements that implicate the U.S. in having responsibility for terror attacks against us are inherently flawed. Terror is not justified by any means, no matter the actions of the U.S. If these people wanted to fight effectively against the U.S., they should rally the governments of the Muslim nations to make a loud statement against the actions of the U.S.

Look in the old testament of the bible. 75 percent of it is named after a prophet who wrote that certain book. Judiasm has the most prophets Islam has 1 recognized prophet and that muhammad.

I went to Catholic school for 9 years, spent one semester in the seminary...left studied buddhism instensly for three years, read the Qur' an, have spent hours upon hours of my life studying the LDS religion, and lived with a Hindu girl for three months.

I only added that fact because if there arnt any reall possible and imediate consiquences to the pilot and aircrafts wellbeing, then there is less potential loss and more bombs droped, almost certinaly in excess of whats needed. The point is that we are trying to fight a war on terror, to make our lives more secure while at the same time forcing other innocent people to live in fear and die, and somehow we find this justified. If one of the people who helped plan the attacks of who sold the c4 is killed by the bombs, then good. But its not good if 50 other innocent men, wemon and children die at the same time. If brothers, sisters, husbands and wives are killed, Personal homes destroyed, (in a way destroying homes is worse than what the terrorists do in destroying public buildings and vehicles. If i was living under constand thread of my house being destroyed, with everything that I own inside,) I wouldnt just sit there and do nothing. Id be out in the streets trying to get rid of the soldiers occupying my village.

An eye for an eye, i can understand, retrabution and revenge are inherant in our being, but an eye for two eyes and a toung isnt right. It wont solve any problems, and it certinaly wont make any friends among the people who might have been againts the terrorists and with the people who were being terrorized.

Bombing a whole city out of anger and retaliation and killing millions of innocent people is ludacrous. That would make us no different than the terrorists themselves. I don't agree with that being an option in present time, nor do I believe the congressman does either.

The point he is simply trying to make is that we must take whatever action necessary. An ultimate threat might have to be met with an ultimate response. That's it. No more, no less. Take it for what it is.
