Are these skis too short for me?

I'm 16, 165 lbs. 6'2" advanced skier and I ski primarily at Alpental and sometimes at Crystal. I just got a pair of 179 k2 Kung Fujas (this was the only size they had left), and I'm wondering if they'll be too short for me. I'm coming off a pair of 174 k2 apache recons.
 
They will be fine for you. They are a big step up in performance over the recon so your really going to enjoy them. As you get older if you get heavier you may want longer in the future but for now your fine.
 
You're gonna be fine man, ski length is (almost) entirely personal preference, you're not sendin big cliffs/50 foot jumps/charging big lines, you'll be fine with your length, if you do grow any more it may be something to consider though. Take it from someone who has seen you ski (yours Truely) for what you're doing these are gonna be perfect
 
Seems a little short to me, but I like my skis longer than most. I am 5'9" and wont ride anything shorter than a 179. The general advice for ski length, is if you are a beginner your skis should fall between your chin and nose, intermediate should fall between your nose and eyebrows, and advanced between your eyebrows and the top of your head, if you like that. Keep in mind too with alot of the park skis that are rockerd pretty hard, that the skis will ski substantially shorter than their true height. I have the 179 K2 press, and they come off the snow a good 6 inches or so before the tips and tails.
 
they will ski fine, as mentioned in other posts, but let me tell you i am 6'0 and weigh the same as you, and i ride a 190cm ski. it was a big step from my last ski, which was 176cm, but i feel more confident riding these and would only recommend getting skis as tall as yourself or taller in the future.
 
Those are a little tall for you, but if you can handle them then they will give you better control and such. Skis being too short is usually a bigger issue than them being too long.
 
I'm 6'2 and I ride 176 ar7s without any problem. I'd probably go up to 181 if I bought new skis but 176 is completely fine for now.
 
everyone here is claiming the length will work, but for a PARK ski. I highly doubt these kung fujas will be a "park" ski for him, he might hit the park with them but still, he skis two resorts with a lot of fun big mtn skiing.

If you really wanna shred alpental how it should be shredded, get the 189. the 179 is a baby for someone over 6 foot for any sort of big mtn skiing.
 
^ but he is 16 and only 160. He is also coming off a groomer (well techniaclly all mtn but most would say its a groomer ski) ski so those skis will be a perfect transition ski until he grows, gets heavier and maybe gets more experience riding the whole mountain
 
I do ride the whole mountain, these will be a one ski-quiver (I also used the apaches for everything).

Basically, as an advanced skier, will the 179 or 189 be a better suit for me?
 
I'm 6 foot 5, 95kg and currently on 179's that have full rocker (volkl bridges) and they're getting a bit too short and squirrelly for my liking so i'm going to try to pick up some 186 ON3P's when they go on presale. For you a 179 won't be all that bad but there will come a time that you'll have to pick up some longer skis but that might not come for another season or two if you're lucky.
