Are step-ups as durable as afterbangs?

My skis are probably gonna snap any day now so I'm looking for a new pair, preferably ones that can take a beating. Now people say that step-ups are a "step up" from afterbangs but are they just as durable?

Should be gear talk, not ski gabber.

Anyway, stepups are really cheap so it doesn't really matter... They are a better ski than the afterbang, but there's a long list of skis that I'd get before... Get chronics.
