"That is by far, the best way to strengthen your core. This machine… You sit on a stabilizer ball, you put your feet into the power stirrups, you reach up and you grab onto the super-rod, and you twist, and you twist, and you twist. It strengthens your entire core. Your back core, your arm core, your… The Marine Corps actually uses it. I think that’s how they got “core.”" - Michael Scott, on the Core Blaster Extreme

Planks are worthless unless your weak as fuck.

They don’t hit the abs they hit core muscles.

modified planks can be useful, but there are much better exercises for your core, especially if your training for skiing. you need to train like an athlete not just worthless holds and Sagittal plane movements.

plank if you actually want to work those abs OP

In high school I achieved a 6:43 plank one time. I wanted 7 min so bad, never got there.

But yesterday I was proud of myself for getting to 1:09... lol

Not bad. Prefer a proper hanging leg raise myself. One that really focuses on the abs, any opportunity to take the hip flexors out is a great opportunity, great concentric and eccentric contraction and can be modified to hit the obliques with a twist or the iliopsoas

I’ll add side bends are shit, hate seeing noobs do that. So many ab excercises are just butchered, even by supposed advanced lifters, anyone that really wants to train needs to learn the direction of fibers and train more scientifically

V ups are more core than sit ups and will destroy your core.

Being proactive is not core, being out of shape and getting out skied is core because your too busy buttering your Vishnu’s with track pants

Man idk bout you but buttering all day really makes me feel exhausted and it definitely helps to have strong core to stay balanced and controlled, especially during the more drawn out butters.

It’s definitely a core workout cuz I feel out of shape at the end of the day

I’m not really interested in spending hours and hours reading. Why don’t you just tell me what exercises I should be doing.
