Are Rollerbladers Skiers??

I think it has been influenced mostly by snowboarding. Terrain parks were first built for snowboarders. Then skiers started getting into them and doing the same things as snowboarders. if there never was snowboarding would skiing still have gone in the direction it has? would skiers have eventually built terrain parks? I don't know, but probably not. also, what about the new big thing for skiers to do, butters, and nose presses, and tail presses? where did all that come from? snowboarding. maybe there has been some things that have been influenced from rollerblading, but it started from snowboarding.

 
Yes new school skiing is influenced by rollerblading but rollerblading is influenced by new school skiing.They are both cool...

 
^actually, most skaters are not influenced by skiing. but, 'influenced by' doesnt mean a copycat of it. just because its been influenced by rolling doesnt mean that its been designed to be rollerblading on the snow

ok, i think we could all agree that the sports are somewhat similar, because ur on ur two feet as opposed to one board. whether u get influenced from it or not, the sports are still in some what similar.

I find skateboarding helps my skiing more than rollerblading could because it gives you a better idea oh motions with your feet, and works your balance from different angles. It also works on different muscles than skiing or blading, making you stronger overall. Tanner and Pep skate, and they are arguably the best park riders in our sport.

newschool skiing started not because of rollerblading, cause that is really gay. It started when snowboarding began the making of serious terrain parks and rails, that is basically how it started

and more, much more than this, I did it my way
 
first of all buddy newschool skiing doesnt exhist, its just skiing. nobody invented it and nobody started it. it came about because people saw other people having fun(snowboarding skiboarding rollerblading skateboarding what fucking ever) and were like....huh lets go have fun too on sick terrain wether it be gay parks stupid hand rails or waaaaaak backcountry lines in your backyard

I think skiing has taken alot from rollerblading. I think that all the one footed rails shit is gay. I really don't like the way skiings rails is moving towards rollerblade style like royals and one footed shit

 
I dabbled in fruit-booting for a while, but it was only to improve my skiing. To compare the two sports is ridiculous, yeah some guys can go big in a vert. competition, but if they made a aggressive inline movie I would be bored after about 5 minutes.

I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

About 2/3rds of you are really dumb, or just rocking the 'too cool' train a bit too hard to understand where shit comes from. I'm back on this one with a huge fucking explanation of the past tonight when I am done with work. See you then. Rollerblading had such a huge part of skiing's chnage, you all don't even know. The people who claim otherwise were still doing stiff-backed upright spins or perfect-form mute threes when the real shit was being mixed up. CP and the Midwest All-Stars, the Quebecois, Levinthal (small skis, same ideas) and some honkeys from Minneapolis (Schmidt, Shane Nelson and Iberg), all know what the fuck is up. Later.

FalseTile, uh dude, most rollers are not vert or park skaters. EVERY video out there is insane street skating. the ridiculousness of rolling now-a-days is unbelievable. most real rollers ha ve actually come to boycotting nationwide comps such as x and gravity games in favor of underground comps like IMYTA or ECTSC. rolling on a vert is nothing like a majority of rolling done by pro.s. check out a video, there are dozens every year, unlike the 6 or 7 ski videos out. the latest videos are insane, and nothing like rolling on 'THE X'

but in todays culture.... with movies like mindgame... skaters(rollers) are getting the respect the desrve. Check out dailybread... alot of the stuff in there is way cooler than most of the shit in freeze. I think that before you little shits say rolling is gay you should watch a video.

Think about how pissed off we get when snowboarders say we are faggoty little fat kids who cant snowboard... I try to show my friends rfa and session1242 and they say the same thing about skiers as you say about blading.

I think there are hints of influence from a bunch of different sports. I think it really depends on how you define your own style, some people may ski more like rollerbladers, some might not. Its all in the way you rock it.

does this tell you anything, on the ns profile where you can select what activities you do. (like photographer, skiier, snowboarder, etc) if skiing was so influenced by rolling then rollerblading would be one of those options.
