Are Polarized Lenses Worth It?

So I was looking through Oakley lenses and I saw that polarized lenses are hella expensive. Do they make a big difference? Do you guys think they're really worth it?
 
All it does is reduce glare. So on a sunny day they would be nice but on a cloudy day they don't do anything for you.

IMO just get a regular lens and save a lot of money.
 
They really do reduce the glare. I think they are super nice. If you can find some on the BST forum then pick them up. They are way to expensive new.
 
If you're paying extra money for polarized lenses you should look into buying a pair of Vonzipper goggles. Polarized reduce sun glare and make a big difference day skiing, but Vonzipper goggles come with a polarized day skiing lens as well as a night skiing lens, and their casings look dope.
 
I've had both and it's nice, but Oakley lenses shatter fairly easily in my experience. I'd go with regular and save the money incase they end up breaking.
 
Had both in sunglasses, didn't notice any difference on snow at all. And polarized lenses can make using some LCD screens a pain.

Cuz we all know checking your phone while skiing is hi priority.
 
i have polarized sunglasses. i really like them more than normal lenses because it reduces glares so it's good for driving your car, bike, skiing and even fishing!

um. yeah. people do need to use phones and cameras sometimes when skiing. it's worth mentioning

here's something i was wondering though: do polarized lenses make ice less noticeable?

My phone is 11 years old, unaffected by polarised lenses and is switched off and in my bag 95% of the time.

My camera I use all day, and its screen blacks out completely when held portrait.
 
As an earlier post said, Polarized Lenses reduce glare which may seem appealing but being able to see the reflection from patches of ice is better

Regular lenses work great for every situation

Polarized for spring skiing maybe..

Yup, the screen on most cameras is polarised already... if you hold 2 polarised lenses with the polarisation at 90 degrees you won't get any light through at all.

That said, polarised or not, I hate using a camera with anything other than the camera in front of my eyes... glasses or goggles, I usually ditch them when shooting.
