Are my skis too long?

Just bought a new pair of Talisman's Revision Ski, 176cm long

I WEIGHT 135lb, 5'8" HEIGHT, and Int/Adv skier.

The thing is, many people have told me, that they are TOO LONG.

Thoughts? I mean, because Of my weight, they are a little bit long, but is it a huge deal? Ir something I will handle after a few runs?

Thank you

No, that doesn't seem too long. 176 isn't very long at all. When I was your size I rode 185s that were traditionally mounted and my friends thought they were short. I don't know what you are used to but I think you will be glad you didn't get a shorter ski.

whoever told you that is a pussy

youre, what, 172 or 173 cm tall, and youre skiing a 176 park ski that has early rise and is either center mounted or very close. you will have no problem with those at all, you'll get used to them in a few runs if they even feel big in the first place (which i sorta doubt)

have fun!

Thanks to both!

As I said, my worry was about my weight. Someone told me: "The skis can't feel how tall you are, but they feel how much you weight"

They do "feel" how tall you are. More height gives you more mass further away from them, so you can apply greater force by way of having more torque. Imagine trying to ski them at your weight but only being two feet tall.

And that length sounds fine.

I'm 5'9" 115lbs (living Skeleton) and ski a 177 for park and a 183 for powder/all Mtn. You'll get used to it. I felt a bit uncomfortable on the 183s until I spent a nigh just bombing/carving around on them, now they are real fun.

Skis dont feel much of anything tbh except my pow skis, they are full of emotion

Will be using them for All Mtn/Powder too, seems fine then.
