Are my pivot 18s gonna be a safety concern for me?

My girlfriend, who doesn’t ski, knew I wanted to put pivots on my new skis, and surprised me with some p18s a few months ago. Although I very much appreciate her generosity, I also want to keep safety in mind.

I am 150lbs, 5’10”, and a pretty aggressive skier. I like to go fast and hard.

I always used to run my dins at 10, and I never had any problems releasing when I needed to, but Im afraid the shop will tell me to have a lower din when mounting, or try to sell me on a different binding.

Should I look at getting 15s or 14s? If so do you think the shop would be willing to buy or trade for my never mounted and still in the original box pivots? I know it’s a stretch but skiing already takes up too much of my money and I’d like to spend as little as possible. Thanks

I'm 158 pounds / 310mm BSL and have ridden Pivot 18's at 9.0-10.5 for three seasons. They eject when I need them to and don't when I don't want them to.

OP you are perfectly fine.

You also really need to know what you are doing when setting DIN this high vs. your size.

I haven’t actually gotten this seasons boots yet, but they should be ~310 bsl too
